WWE Over the Limit 2012 Results: Christian vs. Cody Rhodes Is a Dream Feud

With the 2012 Over the Limit Pay-Per-View done with, the biggest winner of the night has to be new Intercontinental champion Christian; and by default, Cody Rhodes.

That’s because a feud between these two men is due to be an instant WWE classic.

Rhodes has been really building a heel character with depth that is going over well with the fans. While his obvious lineage hasn’t hurt the process, he is one of the most physically gifted stars on the roster and doesn’t let his lack of size become a disadvantage.

A successful run with the Intercontinental title was spoiled by Big Show at WrestleMania, but ultimate redemption was Rhodes', and now it’s on to bigger and better things.

That’s where Christian comes in.

After winning the impromptu battle royal that opened the Over the Limit PPV, Christian supposedly challenged Santino Marella. It was later made clear that it was Rhodes whom Christian would be squaring off against.

Ah, you have to love that fresh feud smell.

How you view Christian as a wrestler, either as an upper mid-car talent or a lower top-tier talent, will help determine how important this feud is for you as a fan.

The more importantly you view Christian, the more impressive it will be when Rhodes ultimately comes out on top in this feud.

Just as Chris Jericho came back to put over CM Punk, Christian is likely doing the same for Cody Rhodes and the Intercontinental title. Rhodes is looking to add more history to his time in the ring and continue to sharpen his teeth against stars right on the outside of the upper echelon.

With Christian likely going face, the WWE would gain a much-needed good guy that can speak on the mic.

Fans should expect Christian and Rhodes to engage in an epic war of words that could cement Cody Rhodes as the next big WWE star. We may not be too far from a possible title reign for Dusty’s kid.
