Erin Andrews: Chace Crawford Dating Rumors Will Boost Reporter's Career

Erin Andrews has found her way into headlines she isn't used to occupying. For her career, that is a good thing. 

The ESPN reporter, with leading actress good looks, is making some waves by gallivanting around town with Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford. 

Us Weekly reported that the two have been "on a couple of dates" and are "getting to know each other."

This is generating a decent amount of buzz. Tweets like this are steadily popping up in the Twitterverse.

People love to talk about the love lives of good-looking celebrities, and with the connection to Crawford, Andrews is doing a little cross-pollination. 

I'm not, in any way, trying to say this is her intention. I have no idea what the intentions of her love life are, and I have no reason to suspect she would pursue personal connections to boost her career. I'm just pointing out the results of this connection. 

Crawford has a much different following than Andrews. He is eight years younger than she is, and Gossip Girl and ESPN certainly have a different targeted audience. And that Gossip Girl fanbase, if they didn't before, now knows who Erin Andrews is. 

And for even those who did know her before, they now have a confirmation that she is relevant. Essentially, Andrews is friending her way to more fame, and in the entertainment business, fame and buzz are two hugely valuable commodities.
