WWE over the Limit Predictions: Kofi Kingston and R-Truth Will Retain Tag Gold
I can't believe I'm typing this, but in recent weeks, it seems the WWE has been trying to build a respectable tag division led by Kofi Kingston and R-Truth.
And while Jack Swagger and Dolph Ziggler should make for an entertaining tag match tonight at Over the Limit, it will be Kofi and Truth leaving the ring with gold in their hands.
During the last few weeks, the WWE Universe has seen Titus O'Neil and Darren Young, the former tag team champions Epico and Primo, Swagger and Ziggler and, of course, the current champs all get significant airtime on both Monday Night Raw and Friday Night Smackdown!

These developments are making for what could be the revival of the tag team division, but in order for that buzz to build, the company should keep Kofi and Truth as the champions. The current champs are the most well-known and loved members in the division, and it wouldn't be smart to have them drop the belts to the biggest heel team.
The smartest move to keep the fans interested in this newly forming tag division would be to have Truth and Kingston retain their title tonight and then begin feuding with their current pay-per-view opponents.
The four superstars are the most experienced of the bunch, and the team of Ziggler and Swagger are two of the best mid-card heels in WWE. While it would be smart for the current champs to drop the belts to the Vicki Guerrero-lead duo at the next pay-per-view or two, you have to let Kingston and Truth continue to carry the division for a bit longer.
The current champions have only held the Tag Team titles for a little less than a month, winning the gold from Epico and Primo back on April 30. Their run with the belts has not been long enough, as they've only worked three matches together since grabbing the gold.
The fans haven't seen enough of this team with the titles to warrant losing to Ziggler and Swagger tonight. I think WWE picked the right opponents for the champions to face at a pay-per-view full of title matches.
Ziggler and Swagger are a good team, but they didn't do much to deserve the title match they're receiving tonight.
Seeing the two college wrestling standouts lose tonight and fight their way through the rest of the division to get another shot at Kingston and Truth's title belts would be entertaining. It would give fans a chance to see the team battle young upstarts like Young and O'Neil, the Uso twins and more, which would be a change of pace from the superstars the two usually face.
Swagger and Ziggler will surely find themselves with the tag belts around their waist soon enough; it just won't be tonight at Over the Limit.
