Arsenal Transfer Rumours: Robin van Persie Wise to Cash in on Brilliant EPL Play
Arsenal striker Robin van Persie is incredibly smart to capitalize on his astonishing play for the Gunners in the Barclays Premier League this past season.
Van Persie netted 30 goals and tallied nine assists in 38 Premier League appearances for Arsenal in 2011-12 and will turn 29 this August.
According to the Daily Mail's Ian Ladyman, Van Persie's financial demands may be risking a potential move from Arsenal. Ladyman reports that the Dutch forward is requesting pay somewhere in the range of £275,000 per week.

Although it is fair to criticize Van Persie for demanding Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo-type money, there is little doubt that his world-class skill and brilliant left foot make him one of football's most dangerous weapons.
Bottom line: Someone will pay for Van Persie's services, especially a team like Real Madrid or Barcelona, a club capable of taking the hit of a reported £20 million transfer fee.
Van Persie will also have an excellent opportunity to audition this June at the European Championships, where he will not grant any interviews while with Holland in a preemptive attempt to shut down any speculative talk or distractions.
RVP has one year left on his current contract with Arsenal, and it is quite possible the team will hold him hostage, requiring him to play out his final season with the club.
Either way, how can anyone blame Van Persie for chasing the money? The brilliant striker can score with the best of them and will be in demand regardless of his own.
