SEC Football Tweets of the Week: The SEC and Big 12 Are Engaged

Every Friday on the SEC Blog we will feature the tweets of the week from SEC players, coaches and media personalities.

The SEC and Big 12 announced that the two conferences will create a new bowl game following the 2014 season that will match the conference champion of each conference, should they not be included in the four-team playoff.

Not once during the BCS era (1998-present) has the final BCS standings been without either the SEC champion or the Big 12 champion, so the prospect of getting a champion vs. champion matchup in this bowl game is slim-to-none.

Essentially, it creates more separation for the top four conferences, according to Clay Travis of OutKickTheCoverage.com.

Brett McMurphy of CBSSports.com put the divide into perspective.

The bowl game, coupled with the recently-announced Alabama vs. West Virginia matchup in the 2014 Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game, has West Virginia head coach Dana Holgorsen pumped...at least, according to my Bleacher Report colleague Adam Kramer.
