Recent reports suggest that one of the most sought-after players in Europe, Japanese star Shinji Kagawa, could be interested in joining forces with Sir Alex Ferguson and Manchester United.

Although Kagawa intends to weigh all of his current options regarding a transfer, Man U would be smart to make Kagawaโ€™s choice a no-brainer.

The 23-year-old Kagawa played 31 games last season for Borussia Dortmund. He compiled 13 goals to go along with eight assists.

Kagawa would be a perfect fit with Manchester United, a team that needs to land another playmaker.

In their match against Manchester City this year, Man U looked to be in over their heads. Their younger players had trouble handling the ball and, as a result, their passing percentages werenโ€™t as great as they should have been in a game with no room for error.

Kagawa has said, โ€œIt would be good to play in the Premier League,โ€ so Sir Alex needs to be aggressive in his pursuit of the youngster.

The Dortmund star wants to test his abilities against the highest level of competition, which is exactly what you want in a midfielder (or any player for that matter).

Kagawa has a confidence and swagger about him that should not be overlooked.

โ€œI want to go to a team where itโ€™ll be challenging for me,โ€ he said.

Not only is the 23-year-old embracing a challenge, but heโ€™s doing so with open arms, which shows a big sign of maturity on his part.

Athletes that face challenges head-on and look ahead to their next venture are the ones you want to target. Kagawa knows that a transfer may not be easy, but heโ€™s certainly up to the test of proving himself to his new teammates wherever he may land.

Sir Alex needs to make sure that Kagawa doesnโ€™t elude him. Adding a budding star is never a bad idea, especially one with the maturity and poise of Kagawa.
