Bayern Munich vs Chelsea: Home-Field Advantage Will Aid Bayern Munich in Victory

The Champions League title is up for grabs, and Bayern Munich and Chelsea will battle for the prestigious title as champions.

The game will be played at the Allianz Arena, Bayern Munich's home stadium. Although the tickets are supposed to be split between the fans of Bayern Munich and Chelsea, it will still undoubtedly favor the German-based club.

This will be the first Champions League final to be held at a team's home stadium since the 1983-84 finals, where Roma faced Liverpool. Unfortunately for the home squad, Roma was defeated by Liverpool on penalties.

Despite that history, the "home field advantage" that Bayern Munich will possess will aid them in defeating Chelsea for the Champions League title.

The nerves of Bayern Munich have already been thoroughly tested, as in the semifinals they were able to knock off Real Madrid in penalties. This was a testing accomplishment, which exemplify that Bayern Munich could come through in the clutch against a legitimate foe.

Despite the fact that the tickets were split evenly between the teams, it will still feel like a home game for Bayern Munich. The electricity and atmosphere of the surrounding German population will add fuel to an already polished machine that is Bayern Munich.

Chelsea's defense is already somewhat shaky. Add to the fact that they are in hostile territory, and they will be even more shaken for this game.

Constant pressure on Chelsea's defense to make plays will result in a close game where Bayern Munich puts themselves into a position to win. Again, fueled by the home atmosphere, Bayern Munich will rally in this close game.  

Home field will come especially in handy should the game go into penalties, as I predict it will. Expect that Bayern Munich scores an emotionally charged goal in penalties to emerge victorious, with the home field aiding the German club.
