Messi and Ronaldo Watch: Real Celebrate Title, Messi Finishes Record Liga Season

Ain't no party like a Real Madrid party.

But nobody can score quite like Lionel Messi.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid celebrated their La Liga title over the weekend while beating their latest victim, this time Real Betis, into submission.

Jose Mourinho's squad finished their league campaign with an astounding 100 points and 121 goals.

Lionel Messi and Barcelona finished nine points behind, but Messi already set a league record for goals in a season.

Ronaldo, Real Finish in Style

Real Madrid finished their title-winning La Liga season with a 4-1 home victory over Mallorca.

Ronaldo scored the opener in the 19th minute (video at left; turn down your speakers a few notches) and was involved in the build-up for the second goal, scored by Karin Benzema four minutes later.

Barca Held

Lionel Messi started and played the full 90 minutes in Barcelona's La Liga finale, a 2-2 draw at Real Betis.

Messi did not score, but he hit the post with a late free kick. Seydou Keita scored a late equalizer for Barca.

Final Tally

Lionel Messi led La Liga with 50 goals this season. That's the most ever in a 38-game Liga season.

With one game left, he has scored 72 times in all competitions.

Cristiano Ronaldo finished second with 46 goals, 22 more than Falcao.

Real Madrid won the league by a final margin of nine points. Jose Mourinho's squad collected exactly 100 points and scored 121 goals.
