Today's AFC North required reading includes looks at whether or not two Baltimore Ravens players will be ready for the season, the battle for No. 2 receiver in Cincinnati and reasons why the Browns should be excited for a potential 8-8 season.
Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs thinks that he'll be able to play at some point this season, despite recently tearing his Achilles' tendon. Bleacher Report's Donald Wood warns against him doing so in this piece, saying that rushing back would only put him in danger of re-injury.
One player who isn't working out with his fellow Ravens is running back Ray Rice. Rice, who is on a contract holdout presently, said to Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times that once he rejoins the team he will be fully ready and prepared to play. He's been working out on his own.

Though the Cincinnati Bengals drafted Mohamed Sanu in the third round this year, they also took another wide receiver later on—Marvin Jones in Round 5. The two will be battling it out this summer for the No. 2 receiver spot on the depth chart, and Bleacher Report's Sigmund Bloom says that Jones already has a leg up on Sanu, if his performance at rookie minicamp is to be believed.
The Cincinnati Enquirer's Joe Reedy sees things a bit differently, contending that it's Sanu who has the better shot at being No. 2 on the depth chart thanks to his rookie camp performance.
Few teams would consider ending a season with an 8-8 record an improvement, except perhaps the Cleveland Browns. Michael Fitzpatrick of Bleacher Report gives us his reasons as to why a .500 record is within reach for Cleveland this year.
The Cleveland Plain Dealer's Bill Livingston contends that when Cleveland Browns quarterback Colt McCoy's father Brad made it very clear he was displeased with the way the Browns handled his son's late-season concussion, that it provided the NFL with reason to change the way concussions are diagnosed on the sidelines.
Bleacher Report's Nick DeWitt gives us the six ways the improved Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line will affect the entire team this season.
According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, it may take a little longer for Steelers first-round draft pick David DeCastro to sign his contract. At contention here is whether or not other late first-round picks will have a fully guaranteed four-year contract like other players taken earlier in the round.
