Chelsea Transfer News: Lavezzi, Higuain, Hulk and More Stars Linked to Blues

Chelsea will need to strengthen their club in the summer to maintain their Champions League success and play better in the Premier League next season.

There are a number of big stars who have been linked to the Blues lately, and several of them would be a great fit at Stamford Bridge.

Let's look at four star players recently linked to the Blues that owner Roman Abramovich should consider purchasing in the summer transfer window.

Ezequiel Lavezzi

According to the Daily Mail, Napoli winger Ezequiel Lavezzi is willing to leave the Serie A club and make move away from Italy in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Lavezzi scored twice against Chelsea in the two clubs' round-of-16 first-leg match during Champions League play this season and is a very talented attacking player.

He has good pace, can finish well in front of goal and creates problems for defenders because of his impressive dribbling skills.

Lavezzi would be a fantastic addition to the Blues' attack, but with a £28 million price tag, it would cost a lot to bring him to London.

Hulk

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea are one of the clubs showing interest in FC Porto star Hulk, who is one of the best young Brazilian players in the world.

Chelsea want Hulk to operate in an attacking left-sided role, alongside their other prime target Edinson Cavani of Napoli, but they face competition, after Fonseca said: 'In the last week or so, I have been talking to four Premier League clubs about Hulk, and Tottenham are one of them.'

Chelsea has been interested in signing Hulk before, and he would give the Blues a physical presence on the attack, which would be needed if powerful striker Didier Drogba leaves the club this summer.

Gonzalo Higuain

The Daily Mail has also reported that Chelsea are interested in Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain. Since French striker Karim Benzema appears to be the No. 1 striker over Higuain at Real Madrid, many people believe the Argentine forward may leave Los Blancos this summer.

Higuain is a talented goal scorer and one of the most consistent attacking players in European club football.

His all-around skill set would make him a smart, safe purchase for the London club.

Lucas Moura

The Mirror is reporting that Chelsea are among the clubs with interest in Sao Paulo star midfielder Lucas Moura.

Lucas is a future star of the Brazilian national team and will likely play a large role in the team's success at the Summer Olympics in London later this year.

The 19-year-old Brazilian midfielder has been a sought-after player over the last year or so and has the playmaking skills that clubs look for in an attacking midfielder.

His price tag is reportedly £40 million, which is a lot of money to spend on a young player who hasn't proven himself in Europe yet.
