Big Ten Football Morning Coffee: Just Say Matt McGloin Already
Rise and shine, friends. Here's what's going down in the Big Ten today.
Dustin Hockensmith of PennLive.com is ready to call the QB race for Matt McGloin, even if Bill O'Brien isn't planning on making the announcement for a few months now. Hockensmith is obviously right; barring injury, McGloin is the right call here.
He's a redshirt senior, and he excels (or struggles less, anyway) when he doesn't have to throw the ball more than 20 yards in any direction—that's the type of offense O'Brien can build for him.
Michigan isn't 100 percent confident in the ability of Will Campbell and Kenny Demens to stop the run up the middle, according to the Detroit Free Press. Obviously, the experience issue is key with Campbell, even though he's got worlds of talent. Coaches need to see his physical abilities and leadership translate into production first and foremost.
Michigan defensive end Chris Rock, a redshirt freshman, left the team yesterday. No, he is not that Chris Rock. This Chris Rock is white and not 47 years old.
Rock is a Columbus native, but one of the few teams in the Midwest that didn't offer Rock out of high school was Ohio State. No word yet on where Rock might be headed from here.
More Michigan? Sure, why not?
Here's a giant photoshop thread of Michigan QB commit Shane Morris. The Titanic one with Taylor Lewan is obviously your winner.
