SEC Football Top 150 Players: No. 112, Brad Madison, Missouri DE
The SEC Blog will be counting down the top 150 players in the SEC every day, concluding on Aug. 30 at the start of the college football regular season.
No. 112: Brad Madison, No. 57, Missouri, Defensive End
2011 Stats: 25 tackles, 4.5 sacks, 8.5 tackles-for-loss, one interception.
Strengths
Despite nursing a shoulder injury all season, Madison managed to finish second on the Tigers in sacks last year with 4.5. He was a second-team All-Big 12 performer in 2010 with 7.5 sacks. He's a relentless pass-rusher that has a nose for the ball and has proven to be a solid starter at defensive end for Missouri.
Weaknesses
The injury concern is there for Madison, big time. He was never healthy last season, and sat out spring practice. He should be ready for the start of fall camp, but he will have a lot of rust to knock off before toe meets leather on September 1.
2012 Prediction
The Missouri defense takes on a lot of criticism, but Madison should be a star in the SEC. He's not a household name by any means, but he will get to face off against a Georgia offensive line in Week 2 that's replacing three starters. The door is open for Madison to make a name for himself early.
