Former No. 1 draft pick and 2011 NFL Rookie of the Year Cam Newton recently purchased a high-security condo with three bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms and over 3,000 feet of living space for $1.6 million. Newton recently signed a four-year, $22 million, fully-guaranteed contract.  

While Cole Hamels wanted to welcome Bryce Harper to the big leagues, commish Bud Selig has made Hamels unwelcome for the next five games...Cole Hamels nailed Bryce Harper in the back during Sunday’s game.  After admitting that the bean was on purpose, commissioner Bud Selig came down hard on Hamels, suspending him for five games.

Pop star Katy Perry is helping launch Adidas' 2012 Olympic line of sportswear designed by Stella. Perry is featured in the new All Adidas women's ad alongside tennis beauty Caroline Wozniacki showing off their athletic talents.

The Dallas Mavericks will not award big man Lamar Odom his $14,000 playoff bonus.  Odom reached an agreement, rendering him inactive since early April.  Former teammate Dirk Nowitzski sites Odom's off-court activities as a distraction.

NASCAR superstar Kurt Busch recently redesigned his car to replicate Will Ferrell's wheels from the film Talladega Nights.  The new look was an idea from WAG Patricia Driscoll, in an effort to support the Armed Services Foundation.
