Arsenal FC: Gunners Take Target Practice on Wenger's Car for New Kit Video

Michael CummingsJun 7, 2018

How about a round of applause for the folks in Arsenal's marketing department. This season, they've managed to make their players look pretty hip more than once in video.

And remember, when Wojciech Szczesny is involved, that's no small feat.

First it was that Citroen commercial with the ballet-dancing Arsenal players (admittedly, that one might not have had that much to do with Arsenal's marketing people).

Now it's the video for their new home kit.

This cinematic masterpiece starts with Arsenal's players taking target practice on a billboard bearing the club's new RAF-inspired logo.

Robin van Persie (obviously) and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (encouragingly) hit the target before Jack Wilshere (hey!) makes a cameo.

Theo Walcott bends a shockingly sweet free kick into the side netting—and then the fun begins.

Arsene Wenger leaves the training ground in his car (Citroen? Anybody?), and Szczesny punts a ball from what seems like 300 yards onto the top of a moving vehicle. Shenanigans ensue.

It's all, of course, a campaign to commemorate the unveiling of Arsenal's new kit, which is all, of course, a clever attempt to keep RvP around with some subliminal sucking up.

Anyway, the new kit has drawn the ire of some Arsenal fans. Watch the video and you'll see why right away.
