Mayweather vs Cotto Results: Money May Proves He Can't Be Beat
Floyd Mayweather Jr. put on a boxing clinic in his latest win over Miguel Cotto to once again capture championship gold and further cement his name into the history of the sport.
Cotto put up a valiant effort against Money May, but in the end, Mayweather was simply in another class all his own.
A world-class boxer like Cotto was toyed with by Money and he made beating a champion look easy. Cotto put the pressure on his opponent early, but any real attack was thwarted by Mayweather's incredible defense.
Any time Cotto lined up a decent shot, the crowd went crazy, but that was plenty deceiving in regards to what was actually happening. In reality, Money May was rolling with the punches and Cotto was getting nothing of value to land on Money's face.
Mayweather's blinding hand speed is rivaled by few that have ever stepped in a ring. His ability to create space with that hand speed when backed against the ropes allowed him to thrive while playing into Cotto's style.
Another easy win for Mayweather is just another reminder about how there is truly only one fighter out there left for him to fight.
In his post-fight interview in the ring, Mayweather did make a mention of his desire to fight Manny Pacquaio.
It's the single fight that remains both highly anticipated and highly unlikely, as well.
But if that fight doesn't happen, there isn't a single soul left that stands a chance against the greatest fighter in the world, Floyd Mayweather Jr.
