Snow or No Snow, St. Louis Cardinals Fans Still Hate the Chicago Cubs

Perhaps it’s the recent Chicago off-season acquisitions that have extended the gap between the Cubs and the Cardinals.  Or maybe it’s the bitter Midwest cold…or the second wave of snow in as many days.

Whatever it is, one thing is for sure; St. Louisains still hate the Cubs.  In a few short months, the area below will be populated by All Star Game vendors and tailgaters.  But for the time being, it stands as one artist’s winter handiwork.

True story—there’s an infamous one-legged hobo that frequents the perimeter of Busch Stadium before and after Cardinals games.  One time, during a Cubs/Cards series, I saw him holding a makeshift cardboard sign that read, “Some Cubs fan stole me leg.”

To that point, I had never given money to a homeless guy, but I gave that guy my remaining $5.  He deserved it.

A man with wit like that could have orchestrated a stunt like the one above—well, except for the fact that he only has one leg.
