NFL Draft 2012 Results: What to Expect in Rookie Season for 1st Round QBs
Andrew Luck is going to win the 2012 Rookie of the Year award in a season where rookie QBs will be featured all over the place.
Four QBs flew off the board in the first round of this past draft, and three of them will likely be starting right off the bat. While it is very likely that at least one of these guys will miss some time with an injury—that is just the nature of the position—I've eliminated that dark reality from the following predictions.
With that in mind, here is what you can expect from these first-year signal callers.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Indianapolis Colts QB, Andrew Luck
Andrew Luck brings huge talent, polish and hype to a team that was terrible last season. Last season, the trio of Colts QBs combined to throw for 3223 yards, 14 touchdowns and 14 INTs.
To that terrible offense, the Colts re-singed their top receiver in Reggie Wayne and will bring in WR Donnie Avery as Pierre Garcon and Anthony Gonzalez depart.
The Colts also brought in two talented TEs in the draft—including Luck's Stanford teammate Coby Fleener.
The drafting of two TEs shows the Colts are anxious to use the two TE sets that Luck had so much success with at Stanford.
The bottom line is that Luck is a pro-ready QB and has some decent weapons with which to work. He will have an outstanding rookie season.
2012 Prediction: 3,810 yards, 23 TDs, 14 INTs
Washington Redskins QB, Robert Griffin III
The Redskins didn't trade away a massive haul of draft picks to have RGIII sit on the bench. He will be the starter right away.
He will step into an offense with an excellent TE in Fred Davis, but less-than-stellar WRs. The Redskins brought in Pierre Garcon and Joshua Morgan in free agency.
This is certainly not the most talented receiving corp, but Griffin will benefit from Davis and an excellent receiving back in Roy Helu.
Last year, Redskins QBs combined for 4,058 yards, 19 TDs and 24 INTs. Washington will be a little more conservative with their play calling, and Griffin will be more efficient than last year's QBs.
2012 Prediction: 3,123 yards, 21 TDs, 16 INTs, 447 rushing yards
Miami Dolphins QB, Ryan Tannehill
Tannehill is not a pro-ready QB. The guy is supremely talented, but he is raw. He has just two years of starting experience in college.
He needs a lot of work on reading defenses, and the decision-making that goes with that. He also could stand a tweak to his throwing mechanics.
The Dolphins must be patient with Tannehill, and I believe they will be.
2012 Prediction: Will barely play, if at all
Cleveland Browns QB, Brandon Weeden
Weeden is going to have a steep learning curve going from a college spread offense to a pro system. However, the Browns didn't draft a 28-year-old QB to have him sit on the bench.
What they will do to help him with the learning process is give him a watered-down and conservative offense.
A lot of this will involve Weeden handing the ball off to fellow rookie RB Trent Richardson. Cleveland has a solid defense, and they will be content to punt the ball rather than go for the jugular on third downs.
This will keep Weeden's stats lower than the top two picks, but he will still turn in a solid rookie effort.
