WWE Over the Limit 2012: 10 Huge Surprises We Could See at the Upcoming PPV

Gone Baby GoneJun 3, 2018

It's speculation time!

Here we are, just days away from WWE's Over the Limit and there are several things that could happen at Sunday's event.

Some of the choices I have listed are very realistic, while others may seem unlikely.

Ultimately, Sunday's pay-per-view has the potential to not only end, but further several storylines. I am hoping that some of the surprises I have listed in this slideshow come to fruition.

Simply put, it would make for some real interesting TV and justify fans spending yet another 50 bucks.

Keep in mind, you may love some of my ideas and hate others. Either way, feel free to express your opinion in the comments section.

Also, don't be shy. If you have enjoyed this article or my previous work, take some time to become a fan.

The Return of Kharma

1 of 10

The WWE Divas division desperately needs Kharma to step back into the ring.

With Layla vs. Beth Phoenix already announced, Kharma could easily attack the winner of the match and make her presence known.

I personally feel that the longer she is sidelined, the less buzz she will create upon her return.

Let's face it, fans and the WWE need to see Kharma now, not five months from now.

Daniel Bryan Becomes the WWE Champion

2 of 10

Yes, yes, yes!

This very well could happen, and many fans including myself would be shocked by this move.

Don't get me wrong, Bryan has more than proven he is deserving of being a top guy. However, Punk has been pulling his weight as WWE Champion and it would be surprising to see his run end at the hands of Bryan.

John Laurinaitis Takes out John Cena

3 of 10

This would be a bold, yet fitting move for the WWE.

Let's face it, Cena has done an amazing job as the face of the WWE, but the man needs some time off to re-energize himself and his character.

If they allow Laurinaitis to win, Cena could be easily be written off of TV for awhile. This would allow for a nice send off and huge audience pop upon his return.

Big Show Interferes in Cena vs. Laurinaitis Match

4 of 10

This would be great for all parties involved. Not only would it give Laurinaitis the win, but it would allow Show to stay relevant and give Cena a chance to be written off of TV.

Chances are Cena will not take time off anytime soon, regardless of his speech at Extreme Rules. But it would be nice for fans to actually cheer for Cena upon his return.

The best part is, unless he is rehired, Show's career would not be affected because in the words of Ric Flair, "Fire me, I'm already fired!"

We See a Divas Match Last Longer Than 5 Minutes

5 of 10

Sadly, out of all of these potential surprises, this would probably be the biggest one, as the WWE has been less than kind to its Divas division.

Ultimately, Layla and Beth Phoenix can go in the ring and deserve some time to show off their skills.

Brock Lesnar Presence

6 of 10

As we all know, Lesnar and the WWE are in the midst of a storyline involving the former MMA champ suing the WWE.

Lesnar could appear in the audience, with Heyman by his side, and interfere in the Bryan vs. Punk match, causing a no-decision.

This move would be bold by the WWE as many hardcore fans have been anticipating this match for awhile. However, it would really give Lesnar a ton of heat, and legitimize his character as one who doesn't care about the WWE or its fans.

This would also get us one step closer to the much anticipated Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar match.

Chris Jericho Becomes World Heavyweight Champion

7 of 10

This would normally not be surprising. However, Jericho has gone on record in saying that he will not be around much this summer due to his band's touring schedule.

Jericho has already made limited appearances on Raw, appearing more via satellite than live, leading up to his last match with CM Punk.

So, if he were to win the gold, he could seemingly go a month or so without defending it at any pay-per-view.

The Tag Title Match Becomes a Three Way Dance

8 of 10

As we all know, Epico and Primo have joined forces with A.W., and are desperate to regain their titles.

If A.W. were to play it old-school, he would go to Laurinaitis during the pay-per-view and demand that his team be entered into this match.

Ultimately, a distracted Johnny Ace would approve of the match just to shut A.W. up, and Epico and Primo could regain the gold.

The Miz Is Granted a Match and Wins

9 of 10

Currently, The Miz is not slated to be part of Over the Limit.

However, this three-hour event is lacking matches and The Miz could easily be tossed a bone at the last minute to face current foe, Brodus Clay.

Due to the timing, this would have to be an unannounced match to kick off the show.

Triple H Officially Challenges Lesnar to a Match

10 of 10

For weeks now, we have been teased with a potential Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar feud.

There has been a ton of speculation that there will be a match, but nothing formal has been announced.

To me the only option is to have this match at SummerSlam.

Calling out Lesnar now would allow for a slow burn during the summer and give fans a build-up similar to the one Cena vs. Rock got, but without having to wait a year.
