WWE Extreme Rules 2012 Results: Brock Lesnar's Next Logical Opponent Is Triple H

Brandon GalvinJun 7, 2018

After brutalizing John Cena at WWE Extreme Rules 2012, the only fitting rival for Brock Lesnar to fight next is WWE COO Triple H.

Triple H is expected to be at RAW tonight for the first time since losing to The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXVIII. Considering Lesnar's outsider gimmick, where he attempts to take over WWE one phase at a time, it's only logical that Triple H looks to be the man to stop him.

Despite losing the match, Lesnar took Cena out with a legitimate arm injury, according to WWE.com. Lesnar may have lost the battle and his first match back since 2004, but he ultimately won the war as he put "Super Cena" on the shelf.

Triple H has always been a franchise player for WWE, he is a legend of the business and somebody that has dedicated his life to defending the company. He did so when CM Punk was looking to take over in 2011 and now he must step in for the sake of the locker room with Lesnar looking to do the same in 2012.

Triple H vs. Lesnar has been a dream feud for many. These are two of the most intense and talented workers to ever grace a WWE ring, yet we were deprived of an epic feud between 2002 and 2004 when Lesnar and Triple H were manning the forts of SmackDown and RAW, respectively.

Considering how Triple H has been as COO and that Lesnar is currently without a feud lined up after dismantling Cena, WWE would be wise to push this feud heading into Over the Limit in May.

WWE has done a great job utilizing their star power and keeping their WrestleMania momentum going strong. They need to ride this momentum and do whatever it takes to keep fans interested and right now, they have Triple H vs. Lesnar being presented to them on a silver platter.
