AC Milan Transfer Rumour: Rossoneri Target Torino's Centre-Back Ogbonna

AC Milan are planning for life after Alessandro Nesta, with the legendary defender's contract due to expire in the summer.

The Rossoneri have been linked with numerous central defenders, Chievo Verona's Francesco Acerbi, Cagliari's Davide Astori and now a new name has entered the conversation.

Torino, currently on target to return to Serie A as champions of Serie B, possess the highly-coveted defender Angelo Ogbonna. The 23-year-old has impressed with the Granata, earning two caps for Cesare Prandelli's Italy and now attracting interest from the peninsula's biggest clubs.

Ogbonna, who has a contract with Toro until 2016, would require a fee in excess of €20 million according to the club's president, Urbino Cairo. It seems likely that Cairo could be tempted to sell once the club's return to Italy's top flight is confirmed.

Reports are suggesting that Ogbonna is attracting interest from numerous other clubs, including Napoli, Benfica, Arsenal and Juventus. This could push Milan into considering alternatives with Il Sussi Diario confirming that the Rossoneri are keen on the aforementioned Acerbi and Astori.

Adriano Galliani will know that this decision will prove to be critical in the rebuilding project, knowing that at such a crucial position, it can be the difference between challenging for the scudetto or the Champions League.
