Andrew Luck: Players Indianapolis Colts Should Target to Help New Quarterback
The Indianapolis Colts have their new franchise quarterback in Andrew Luck, but they are still a long way from contending.
Outside of aging stars Reggie Wayne and Dwight Freeney, there is little that reminds you of the team that was so good for the past decade.
In order for the Colts to get back on top of the NFL world, they will need to give Luck some help with one of these players with the No. 34 pick.
TE Coby Fleener, Stanford
Luck's favorite target in college would give the quarterback a bit of a security blanket as he gets acclimated to the NFL.
Fleener is a very good receiving tight end and would be a solid replacement for the departed Dallas Clark.
OG/OT Cordy Glenn, Georgia
Once you get a franchise quarterback, it is important to protect him. Stanford's Jonathan Martin is also still available, but Glenn is the more valuable lineman.
Not only does Glenn have more talent, but he can be used at either tackle or guard. His versatility will help a Colts line that needs a little bit of everything.
C Peter Konz, Wisconsin
One thing that helped Peyton Manning throughout his career was consistency. For most of his time on the Colts, he had the same offensive coordinator in Tom Moore and center in Jeff Saturday.
Indianapolis can give Luck that same luxury by drafting Konz in the second round. He is the best center in the class and should be a NFL starter for a long time.
WR Stephen Hill, Georgia Tech
Hill is one of the most athletic players in the draft and his upside is off the charts.
The receiver was held out of the first round because teams feel like he is still raw and needs a few years to develop. Fortunately, the Colts have time to wait for Hill to become as good as possible while the rest of the team grows together.
