2012 NFL Draft Results: Final Picks for Every Round 1 Team
Round 1 of the 2012 NFL draft was full of twists, turns and plenty of drama, and the results are final and long-lasting.
After Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III were selected by the Indianapolis Colts and Washington Redskins, respectively, all bets were off, and Radio City Music Hall was the epicenter of a raucous round that featured 10 trades—the most since there were 11 in 2002.
The scariest part is that the New England Patriots traded up...twice.
There were some definite reaches and steals, especially in the top 10.
Not surprisingly, there were four quarterbacks taken in the first round—not an abnormally large number. The real surprise was the three running backs that were taken. It's surprising considering that the consensus around most water coolers is that the NFL is becoming a pure passing league.
Not so fast.
Speaking of surprises, what were the Seattle Seahawks thinking when they took defensive end Bruce Irvin, who most people didn't have going until the middle to late second round.
One man's trash...
