Derrick Rose, Chicago Bulls Top NBA in Jersey Sales
According to NBA.com, Derrick Rose's name is in the news for something other than injuries for the first time since the All-Star break. His jersey is number one—not No. 1, number one, as in jersey sales.
According to the report:
"Reigning Kia NBA MVP Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls secured the top spots as the NBA’s Most Popular Jersey and Team Merchandise, respectively, based on sales at the temporary NBA Store on Fifth Avenue and on NBAStore.com from April 2011 to present.
"
Winning the MVP while remaining humble and loving your mom will do that for you.
Second on the list was the mercurial New York Knicks star, Jeremy Lin, who came from nowhere to become an international sensation earlier this season for the Knickerbockers.
Third on the list was Kobe Bryant, followed by LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony to round out the top five. Last year, James' jersey sales topped the list.
The second-most popular team jersey sale was the Knicks followed by the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks respectively. It was the first time the NBA champion Mavericks have been in the top 10 since 2008 according to the report.
Here is the rest of both lists.
