Yu Darvish: Rangers' Ace Dominates NY Yankees as Hype Surrounding Phenom Builds
The Texas Rangers faced the red-hot New York Yankees on Tuesday night and sent a bunch of them back to the bat rack furious and frustrated.
The Yankees' four-game winning streak came to a screeching halt as they ran into the hype of Yu Darvish that will soon turn into a mania. That is, if he keeps pitching like this.
Darvish struck out 10 in eight-plus innings of work, dropping his ERA on the season to 2.42 and his WHIP to 1.58. The man that the Rangers paid over $100 million for in the form of a contract and posting fee is now 3-0 on the season, and he is getting better.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
It's a remarkable distance from Darvish's first start that began with bumps and bruises, at least to the Japanese star's ego.
The pitcher's "welcome to the majors" moment featured an opener to the Seattle Mariners where he threw 42 pitches in the first inning, suffering four runs. After giving up another run in the second inning of that April 9th game, he settled in to retire the next 10 batters.
He finally settled in and has been doing just that ever since.
It's far too soon to make an accurate assessment on who Darvish is as a pitcher, good or bad. But it's clear that he has it in him to take own some of the best in the game with a wide assortment of pitches.
Ron Washington was just as complimentary to his budding ace after a game that featured punch outs to Derek Jeter and Curtis Granderson, via ESPN.
"He just keeps getting better every time he takes the ball. Tonight, he used everything he had, and he was effective, very effective. He's getting more and more comfortable.
"
If you are waiting for a meltdown, you will be waiting for quite some time. Darvish looked absolutely dialed in against the Yankees, hitting his spots and getting the breaking stuff over for strikes.
We all knew that he had some dirty stuff, but his success was always going to rest on his confidence, which has to be soaring right now.
The crazy part is that Darvish may actually improve moving forward, dominating the American League on his inaugural tour.
There will be bumps along the way, but if he pitches like he did on Tuesday, they will be few and far between.
