Barcelona vs. Real Madrid: Rematch in Champions League Final Won't Happen
A potential rematch between Barcelona and Real Madrid has all of the intrigue and natural storylines that sports fans crave.
The chance for Barcelona to avenge what is surely a La Liga championship for Real Madrid. A chance for Real Madrid to avenge last year's defeat in the Champions League semifinals and take home both the La Liga and Champions League trophies.
Oh, and another meeting in the El Clasico, the finest rivalry in soccer.

It's a shame it won't happen. Real Madrid is going to let us all down.
Barcelona currently trails Chelsea 1-0 in aggregate goals, while Real Madrid trails Bayern Munich 2-1. The odds would seem to stack higher against Barcelona, who cannot afford a goal by Chelsea lest Barca score three to nix the away-goals advantage.
Still, Barca has dominated the play in recent losses to Chelsea and Real Madrid, but has failed to finish with the clinical precision they have become known for.
I'm inclined to believe they will take out those frustrations on Chelsea, scoring a barrage of goals on the Blues. Chelsea was excellent in the first leg and played admirable defense, but the bounces also went their way, and they very easily could have lost the contest.
The second time around, I believe they will.
But why will Real Madrid fall to Bayern Munich?
For one, if ever there was a game that has letdown written all over it, it is this one for Real Madrid. After an emotional victory over their hated rivals that all but guaranteed them a La Liga championship, they could hardly be blamed for a bit of a relapse.
Your emotions would probably be a bit spent, too.
And frankly, I think Bayern can play a far looser game than Chelsea. Bayern showed in the first game they could dominate play, while Chelsea scored on a counterattack, easily their best opportunity of the game.
Bayern knows they will need to score, as it is unlikely they'll keep Real Madrid off the board. Chelsea is going to pack it in and hope the defense holds up.
If I was a betting man, my money would be on a Barcelona versus Bayern Munich final.
But as a sports fan, I'm hoping it's another El Clasico. It would be an epic matchup, indeed.
