My Week in Videos: Roddy Piper, DDP, JJ Dillon

It certainly was an interesting week for yours truly interviewing some legends in the pro wrestling business. Luckily, I had a camera with me to capture all the news that was broken and opinions that were given!

First, on Thursday, DDP came into the studio; he was wearing those toe shoes, so naturally I had to call him on them and he did have a good response to why he wears them. It's interesting to hear someone who feels so passionately about something talk about it (in his case, Yoga) and how he convinces others to give it a try. In his mind, with plenty of fact to back it up, it's the greatest thing in the world.

Over the weekend, WrestleReunion was in town so I had a chance to interview a couple wrestlers, including JJ Dillon; we had just interviewed him on Aftermath Radio a couple weeks back, and in that piece he talked about his WWE Hall of Fame ring being too small.

In the video interview in this slideshow, he is wearing the ring, so it looks like the alteration was a success. We also joke about how difficult it was to keep up with Ric Flair in the partying department. Hey, Diamonds are Forever.. and so is Ric Flair's tolerance, it seems!

One of my absolute favourite human beings to interview is "Rowdy" Roddy Piper; our in-studio sit down a few months ago was one of the most successful interview series I've ever done, for many reasons. Now, here I am inside Piper's Pit! Hot Rod breaks more news, recollects on old stories...it's a fantastic two-parter.

In Studio with DDP Part 1

In Part 1, DDP talks about how Dave Grohl (front man for the Foo Fighters and former Nirvana drummer) had big beef with DDP's "Self High Five" WCW theme song (listen to it here). He was so pissed off about it that he almost sued WCW and DDP! Page talks about why he chose to use that song as his inspiration.

As well, DDP talks about which WWE Superstar discovered DDP Yoga first, who has spread the word and which Superstars use it today.

In Studio with DDP Part 2

In Part 2, DDP talks about having a conversation with Randy Orton over the use of the RKO / Diamond Cutter and whether Page was consenting.

Also, he laments over his WWE debut as the Undertaker's wife's stalker, and how he would have done it ("You stole my gimmick, Rock!")

With Roddy Piper Part 1

Roddy Piper invites me into Piper's Pit to talk about how he almost hit Morton Downey Jr. with a fire extinguisher at WrestleMania 5 (not just the substance that comes out of it!), as well as a detailed explanation and circumstance around painting himself half-black at WrestleMania VI.

With Roddy Piper Part 2

Piper's son Colt Toombs joins us in Part 2 to talk about a new career path he will choose.. hint, he will follow in his dad's footsteps!

I ask Piper if he will train his son, and Piper also breaks news on whether he would have one more match in the ring.. he says he is in good enough shape to do one!

... oops! That's not JJ Dillon, that's Alan Thicke. Well, you might as well watch this one too... even if you watch only the first six seconds to see what he does to me and what he calls me! Apparently, I'm his....
