Ohio State Spring Game: Biggest Names on Field for Buckeyes in Scarlet-Gray Game
Urban Meyer's Buckeyes take the field for the first time ever this Saturday and there is a lot going on in Columbus—even in a year when Ohio State cannot compete in the postseason.
The arrival of Meyer has brought about expectations even higher than the Buckeyes are used to and within a year he'll have to deliver.
In fact, it may even be a blessing in disguise that they have a year to put things together with Meyer's offense.
But all that doesn't mean this team won't play well this season, as they have a few big names that are hard to stop.
Johnathon Hankins, NT
The mammoth defensive lineman actually has surprising speed and agility and is just scratching the surface of his potential.
He and the next guy on this list make for one of the most formidable defensive lines in the country.
He's routinely dropped weight in college to get better each and every year and we can expect the same this season.
John Simon, DE
Strong and athletic, Simon is one of the best players in the country at his position and continues to get better.
He's strong, athletic and dedicated to getting better, which Meyer loves.
Jake Stoneburner, TE
The Buckeyes' top offensive weapon is a versatile pass-catcher who can line up at tight end or receiver. He'll be Braxton Miller's No. 1 target this year and their most important player.
Look for Meyer to get him involved in as many ways as possible.
Braxton Miller, QB
The easiest member of this list is the guy who makes the entire offense go. If Miller doesn't take to Meyer's coaching and scheme this team is in trouble, at least until Meyer gets his next athlete into Columbus.
Look to see what Miller does on Saturday, but this process won't be complete overnight.
