What They're Saying
Kobe Bryant told STATS LLC and The Associated Press that he is happy with the strides the team has been making with him on the sideline, but is aware they will have to adjust when he is back.
""It's been good to see how much the guys have progressed in doing things they ordinarily would not try to do," Bryant said. "Now when I'm not out there, you have to do other things. You have to experiment with your game, and they had a great deal of success with that and their confidence is at a high level, which is great.”

Most Important Player to Watch: Kobe Bryant
The Black Mamba is finally set to return after a seven-game hiatus to rehab his left shin injury. What better time than against the Spurs, whom the Lakers have split the season series with thus far.
It’ll be hard not to watch Kobe, as most Lakers fans have a certain amount of anxiety about his health going into the playoffs.
Key Matchup: Andrew Bynum vs. San Antonio Bigs
Bynum went off against the Spurs back on April 11. He scored 16 points and, more importantly, grabbed 30 rebounds. All of this happened while Kobe was cheering in a suit on the bench.
San Antonio worked much harder to contain the big man the next outing, and on April 17 he scored 21 points but was boxed out and grabbed just 7 boards.
It’s going to be tougher for the Spurs to contain Bynum while worrying about Kobe tonight, so keep an eye on who they use to guard him and how.
