MLB Betting Odds: Baltimore Orioles vs. Chicago White Sox

Jeff GrantJun 7, 2018

The Baltimore Orioles and Chicago White Sox will close out a three-game American League series on Thursday afternoon inside U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago, with the first pitch scheduled for 2:10 p.m. ET.

Las Vegas oddsmakers have established the White Sox as -140 home favorites, while the total stands at 8 but is facing upward pressure in the betting market.

Jason Hammel (1-0, 2.08 ERA) has led the Orioles to wins in both of his starts thus far during the 2011 campaign, including a 6-4 road victory over the Toronto Blue Jays on April 14.  He didn't figure in the decision, surrendering two runs and six hits over five frames.

The right-hander will be making his seventh career appearance (third start) versus the White Sox, posting an 0-1 mark and 3.86 ERA, including an 0-1 record and 5.14 ERA in three appearances inside this particular ballpark.

Sports bettors will find that the Orioles are 7-3 in their last 10 games as a road underdog of +110 to +150, while the "over" is 15-5-1 in that situation.

White Sox starting pitcher Gavin Floyd (1-1, 3.09 ERA) came away with a 5-1 home victory over the Detroit Tigers in his last outing, tossing six shutout frames and scattering three hits.

He has a solid 4-2 record and 3.56 ERA in seven lifetime starts against the Orioles, limiting them to a .226 batting average. The right-hander was 1-1 with a 6.39 ERA in two starts in this series a year ago, serving up two home runs in 12.2 combined frames.

The White Sox are 3-7 in Floyd's last 10 starts as a home favorite of this kind, while the "over" is 9-4-1 in his last 14 starts in front of the home faithful.

Weather forecasts are expecting 30 percent showers in the Windy City throughout the game with a 10-15 mph breeze out of the south-southwest (in from right).
