Matt Kemp: Los Angeles Dodgers OF Takes the Show on the Road in Milwaukee

Jeff GrantJun 7, 2018

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp has spent the first 10 games of the 2012 MLB season hammering Pittsburgh Pirates and Los Angeles Dodgers pitching, as he takes the show on the road to take on the Milwaukee Brewers (4-6) in the first of three games inside Miller Park on Tuesday night.

Las Vegas oddsmakers have established the Dodgers as +115 road underdogs, while the total has fallen by a half run to 7.5.

Kemp is hitting a blistering .487 on the season with six home runs and 16 RBIs, but those power numbers could be halted against tonight's opposing starter. The 27-year-old has failed to homer in 12 career at-bats versus Yovani Gallardo, but does have have four hits against him.

Los Angeles starting pitcher Chad Billingsley (2-0, 0.63 ERA) is off to a tremendous start as well, including a 6-0 victory over the San Diego Padres in his first road outing of the year on April 6. He tossed 8.1 shutout innings and surrendered just three hits in that contest.

The right-hander will be facing the Brewers for the eighth time (sixth start) in his career, coming in with a 2-1 record and 4.54 ERA, including a 1-0 mark and 3.15 ERA in four appearances (three starts) in tonight's ball park.

Sports bettors will find that the Dodgers are 11-1 in their last 12 games versus National League Central opponents, while the "under" is 4-1 in their last five games following an off day.

Milwaukee lost its final four games of an eight-game road trip, which included getting swept in a three-game set versus the Atlanta Braves over the weekend. The Brewers are a disappointing 15-25 at home when the money line is -100 to -125 the last two-plus seasons.

Gallardo (1-1, 5.91 ERA) will head to the mound for the third time, earning a 2-1 road victory over the Chicago Cubs last time out, giving up just a single run and five hits over seven frames.

The right-hander will be searching for his first lifetime victory against the Dodgers, posting an 0-3 mark and 7.66 ERA in his first four tries.

With game-time temperatures in the mid-40s expected in the Milwaukee area, it's likely that the roof at Miller Park will be closed for this series-opening affair.
