Boston Marathon 2012: Latest Updates on Celebrity Participants
A sweltering day in Boston couldn't deter a massive field from one of the greatest marathons. Even some well-known celebrities took to the course on Monday.
The field is immense, and those running are so diverse, the love of running remains one of the only things these thousands have in common.
From 73-year-old Thad Ghim to field-favorite Geoffrey Mutai, the need to run extreme mileage joins them all, even the most celebrated in the mass of runners huffing and puffing.
Here is an update on those runners that we all know so well.
Tedy Bruschi
He is a Super Bowl winner and an NFL TV analyst for ESPN. You can add charitable marathon runner to his list of accolades.
Bruschi is running for his organization, Tedy's Team, which is a group of runners raising money for the American Stroke Association.
Bruschi will certainly earn his marathon badge too and that's because of the hot weather. It is currently 74 degrees and is supposed to rise to 84-degrees, according to Weather.com.
Projected Finish Time: 4:57:55
Ryan Sutter
Many of you know Sutter from his stint on The Bachlorette, so don't act like you don't.
Sutter is taking to the course for his friend and Survivor winner Ethan Zohn. A recurring case of Hodgkin's lymphoma meant Zohn would not qualify for the marathon, but his friend was waiting to take over, People Magazine reports.
Sutter will be out on the course for his friend who could not, and is doing just fine according to the tracker.
Projected Finish Time: 3:18:40
Kristine Lilly
The former U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team star rounds out our field and is running to support Children's Hospital Boston.
It's no surprise that she has the endurance to put together a solid time, and here is how she is faring as of this writing.
Projected Finish Time: 4:07:46
You can find any runner by name at the Official Boston Marathon Site.
