WWE Draft 2012: How John Laurinaitis Will Assert Influence on Raw and Smackdown
All hail John Laurinaitis! All hail the general manager of WWE!
Those are words I never thought I'd say...ever.
Fortunately for people like me who desire change in this business, the former "Johnny Ace" is the man of the hour and the bringer of hope, if you will.
With one sole general manager, things will get done. Even if some decisions are to be questionable, it will all be for some greater purpose if only to further another, more important storyline.
Look for much turmoil to happen in the lives of all the WWE superstars and divas as John Laurinatis expects to rule unchallenged. His face will be plastered all over the blue and red brands, so everyone might as well get used to it right away.
He has a lot of work to do, however...how far will his reach extent to? What are the consequences of his rule?
Let see now.....
Brock Lesnar Will Be Unleashed Upon the World
1 of 5The Next Big Thing is back in the WWE; that much has been confirmed. He returned two weeks ago and delivered a message to John Cena that was loud and clear to all who gazed upon him: Don't mess with me.
Now, it is brought to light that GM Laurinaitis is responsible for this beast's return (in story) to the company and at a perfect time too. As I mentioned earlier, things will get done, and those who do not get in line will feel the pain...period!
With both World Champions being heavily-favored Superstars, John Laurinaitis may wish to humble them and bring the gold in his own circle, so by having a man like Lesnar by his side, the odds look in his favor methinks.
Here comes the pain indeed. Neither Raw nor Smackdown will be safe from the wrath and power of the former UFC Champion.
No Champion Is Safe
2 of 5The slide should in reality be as follows: No FACE champion is safe in WWE.
Why? Because John Laurinaitis wants to dominate and humble. Villains have everything to gain from an alliance with the GM; so would "faces," but it is hardly in the nature of heroes to side with evil now, is it?
Sheamus, Big Show, Santino—all nice guys who hold some of the precious gold in this company.
Beth Phoenix is the most dominant diva on the roster and heavily cheered even though she is supposed to play a villain. What may be in store for her in the ACE era?
Then there is CM Punk. How I pray for his immortal soul these days.
He has been put in all sorts of matches lately, and tonight, he defends his WWE championship against Mark Henry. There may be no end to his torment, as he is an unyielding figure and no amount of threats will ever break his will.
From John Laurinaitis' point of view, these people must be brought in line. It is like chess; all the gold must be put on various pieces on the board if he is to win the game.
The title scene may be altered severely by the end of the year...all for the benefit of the WWE Universe, so says the general manager.
The Annual Draft Will Be Tampered with
3 of 5Next week's WWE Raw will feature the annual draft, where many faces will change places.
It has been an exciting concept, but I was honestly always for a united roster anyway as it was in the glory days. With the draft, you never know who can end up on Raw or who will be sent to Smackdown.
The fate of the supershows may hang in the balance. Triple H did say last year, that this seemingly single roster would be for the foreseeable future. Will John Laurinatis try to change that?
There are usually some matches to determine picks, but if the GM's money is on one guy or girl, there is no telling what he can decide in order to get his way. The truth is, with HHH away, John can do whatever he wants, and it is all for some dark and twisted purpose. This is precisely why it all makes for some very entertaining television time.
Monday Night Raw on April 23 will be a three-hour show. Three hours of bombshells and upsets with one thing in common: John Laurinaitis's crooked fingerprints all over it.
Mark my words.
Members of Team Johnny Will Be Rewarded
4 of 5At WrestleMania XXVIII, Team Johnny won the battle and propelled Laurinaitis to ultimate power in the WWE.
If anything, the GM has always claimed to be a generous, fair person, so it is very likely he will reward his followers well in the near future.
Mark Henry is getting a serious treat by facing WWE Champion, CM Punk tonight. I don't expect him to win, but should he beat the lights out of the Straight Edge Superstar, it may just be what the GM wants. Weaken him enough for something else to finish the job.
David Otunga is the man I predict to end the reign of United States Champion, Santino Marella. It is a logical choice given the state of the Harvard graduate's recent push; plus, I am starting to get behind that guy...burn my tongue with acid now!
If not Otunga, then Swagger perhaps? Last time I read some rumors, wasn't Swagger advertised as US Champ? Anyway, one of these team members will bring home the gold to Johnny Ace. Call it a mutual pay back for services rendered.
Then there is my utmost favorite: The Miz.
He is the man to have won it all for the GM. He is the one to have Skull-Crushing Finale'd a love-struck Zack Ryder into oblivion. He is the one who is now 3-0 at Mania.
This is to be rewarded in a big way. Another world title reign is in The Miz's future for sure. Maybe not the WWE championship, but the World Heavyweight championship...Sheamus will have to lose that belt someday; why not to the Awesome One once he gets drafted to Friday nights?
Aww...you don't agree? You don't like it?
It doesn't matter what you think?
A New Day Has Come
5 of 5Yes, Celine, you said it best.
Now the sinking of WWE will be averted thanks to a man named John Laurinatis, the sole ruler and master of all brands. All who stand against him must be made to kneel...kneel before Zod!
Whoa...just got possessed for a second. You think I will be offered a job at WWE after all this?
It is indeed a new era in the company. Some may view these as dark times; others, like me, times of change but in the end, it is to allow progress and advancement to stories and programming.
John Laurinaitis is the man of the hour, and his reign has only begun. Expect many cut-throat decisions and career-altering changes to occur in coming months.
It will take someone of immense power to undo it all, but what if it was someone of immense power that planned all this?
Everything happens for a reason, and in WWE, anything can happen.
