5 Reasons Why Vontaze Burfict Will Succeed in the Pros
Take a look at Vontaze Burfict and you see a football player. Take a closer look at Vontaze Burfict, and you see a man who is questioned by many about his ability as a player and a person.
Those two variables may keep him from being a high draft pick in the NFL Draft.
But based on pure talent, Burfict may be one of the top six or seven players who could be drafted. But ask scouts, coaches and the media, and they see a person who provides many headaches and causes fear in teams who want to take a chance on him, but may make a big mistake by putting his name on a card and sending it up to the podium.
Burfict is an enigma, and not in a good way. But with all the talent in his arsenal, he could very well be the next (insert name here) in the NFL.
These are the reasons he could very well be a star in the making in the NFL.
He Is Constantly Moving on the Field
1 of 5He is always involved in plays.
While his intensity is sometimes too intense, the fact he constantly moves around the field is better than most guys who take some plays off.
He Could Be Another Ray Lewis
2 of 5When Lewis came into the league, he was this fiery player who sometimes played out of control and out of his realm.
I see a lot of Lewis in Burfict. I think there is a player in there that if he was given the proper schooling and guidance, he could be as amazing as any pass rusher or linebacker in the game today.
The Scouts Are Betting Against Him
3 of 5The attitude and erratic play are strikes against him.
The fact he had a poor outing at the combine is another.
It seems everyone is betting against him and for those reasons, he may fight back even stronger.
He Is Young and Raw
4 of 5Remember, he had a year of eligibility left at Arizona State.
Could it be he has not matured yet and there is still a mature man waiting to grow up?
Just because they are over 20 years old does not mean they have completely developed mentally. Some athletes look like gods, but if they do not have the mental capacity yet, they are still children.
The Right Team Can Make Him a Star
5 of 5He has Baltimore Ravens written all over him.
If he were to be drafted by the team that possess his closest comparison, then maybe learning from Ray Lewis may be the best thing for him.
Remember, Lewis was not a saint when he came into the league and even afterward, he faced many challenges.
