Fantasy WWE: Friday Night SmackDown (April 13)
Welcome to this week’s SmackDown, which is the first under the new management team of George Cushnie, Jack McKenzie and Charlie Gregory.
Thanks to everyone who got in touch about our WrestleMania matches. We’ll use your comments to make sure we keep improving and give you the best shows that we can every week!
What a night we had at WrestleMania.
New champions were crowned, stars debuted and talking points aplenty. We’re only six weeks away from our next pay-per-view, No Mercy. How will the fallout from WrestleMania affect the road to that PPV?
There’s only one way to find out,
There’s no intro/pyro this week as we head straight to the ring for a promo segment from the new WWE Champion, Daniel Bryan!
Editor's Note: I'd like to announce there has been a WWE Draft in which five superstars switched shows. The draftees will be announced week-by-week. Stay tuned for Monday Night Raw, which will have to come out within the next 24 hours.
Anyways, let's see how SmackDown is looking after Wrestlemania 28!
Promo: In the Ring with Daniel Bryan
1 of 12Daniel Bryan’s music is blasting out of the PA system as our new champion arrives in the arena. He’s smiling from ear-to-ear and laughing away as he heads to the ring.
Matthews: “Here comes the spineless, cowardly champion Daniel Bryan. He didn’t outwrestle Punk to win that title. He cheap-shotted him!”
Striker: “Some say he’s a coward, but others think he’s a genius, Josh. Let’s hear what the new WWE Champion has to say!”
Bryan can’t get any words out, between him laughing and the crowd booing him relentlessly. Eventually, the crowd quiets down and Bryan talks.
“You all thought you knew me, huh? Well, you’re wrong. My name isn’t Daniel Bryan, my name is Bryan Danielson. This belt proves that I’m the best that the entire world of wrestling has to offer! I outsmarted all of you, and I outsmarted Punk. It wasn’t exactly difficult, though!”
Just as he says that, Punk’s music hits and he stands at the top of the ramp.
“You’re forgetting one thing, Bryan: I know who you are! Or at least I thought I did. Remember when we were starting out in the business? How people said that we’d never make it to WWE, because of our style and size?
We proved everybody wrong. We got to the biggest company there is. We’ve not only stayed here, but risen to the top. There’s one difference though. I earned my title shots and wins. You took a cheap-shot like the little b---h that you are!”
Danielson: “Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, Punk! Who do you think you are? You’ve done exactly the same thing as me twice, so don’t come across as the pious one to me. Didn’t you do that to Jeff Hardy and Edge? You’re a hypocrite. Face it, I outsmarted you and I got what I’ve always wanted—to be WWE Champion.”
As Danielson finishes, Michael Cole makes his way to the stage:
“Bryan, you might have outsmarted Punk, but you won’t outsmart me. Punk has an automatic rematch clause in his contract and guess what? He’s going to be enacting that rematch clause next week!”
Danielson: “You can’t do that Cole, that’s crap! I’m the WWE Champion!”
Cole: “As the general manager and your boss, I can! And, by the way, you’re going to have a match tonight. You say that you’re the best in the world? Well, you’re going to face the largest athlete in the world! You’re going to face Big Show inside a steel cage!”
Cole turns to Punk and says: “Punk, you’re also going to be in a match tonight. You’ll face The Miz one-on-one!”
Punk smiles and walks to the back as Danielson throws a fit in the ring.
Promo: In the Ring with Christian
2 of 12We’re back from commercial as Christian walks to the ring accompanied by Heath Slater. He holds the cruiserweight belt high as Slater applauds the champ.
The crowd is already on their backs. Slater opens the ropes for Christian who enters the ring and picks up a mic.
Christian: “Last Sunday at WrestleMania, I defeated Richie Steamboat and Zack Ryder. I told you I would. None of you believed me, but I proved once again that I’m the ultimate cruiserweight by beating them both. I pinned Zack at No Way Out and WrestleMania. I beat Richie beforehand, and I injured him.
If you don’t believe me, then wait until No Mercy. Wait until SummerSlam. Wait until next year’s WrestleMania. The fact is that at all those events and more, I will appear as I am now: the best cruiserweight there is and still champion. I’ll be the longest reigning champion in history!
There’s just one problem. I know that there’s no one who can challenge me. I could just leave it at that and show everyone that nobody can beat me. I’d become the greatest cruiserweight champion in history, but that’s not how I roll.
I want people to say 'Wow! He’s beaten everyone and nobody can touch him!' I’ve got a huge announcement to make. Michael Cole, I’m the Cruiserweight Champion, so I’ve got the authority to do this: as of this moment, I am disposing of the title!’
Matthews: “My God! Can he do that? Only Michael Cole can decide what goes, can’t he?”
Striker: “I don’t know, Josh, but Cole seems to be OK with it! He hasn’t come out or anything, so it looks like there’s no longer a cruiserweight division!”
Christian: “But it doesn’t stop there… oh no! I’m not just getting rid of the cruiserweight championship, I’m making it better. Instead of the cruiserweight belt, there is a new belt in town. I give you the Light Heavyweight Championship!”
Christian takes a belt from Slater. It’s the same style, but it’s got the words "Light Heavyweight" emblazoned over it and he puts it round his waist.
Christian: “Now, there’ll be more challenging matches so that I can show you just how good I am! I’m sick of being overlooked! I want to be known as the greatest champion on SmackDown! The weight limit for the light heavyweight division will be 240 pounds. It doesn’t matter who it is. I’ll go down in his-“
Richie Steamboat’s theme hits and he comes out to the stage to a huge pop. He’s got a mic in his hand.
Steamboat: “Christian, that belt’s going to your head. I can’t wait to beat you for the championship at No Mercy! Before you start complaining about me not deserving a match, guess what? I’ve got a rematch clause, and I’m going to cash it in at No Mercy.
I’ll beat you within an inch of your life. I can’t wait to see the look on your face when I walk out holding the belt and end your worthless reign as champion. It’s a shame that you wasted all that money on that belt when you’re going to lose it to me! Enjoy it while you can, Christian!”
Steamboat smiles and points at Christian. Just as he goes to walk away, Cole appears at the top of the ramp with a mic.
Cole: “It’s clear that you’re both dying to get a piece of each other, so how about I book you in a tag-team match tonight? Zack Ryder also feels cheated by you two, so tonight it’ll be Richie & Zack versus Christian & Heath Slater!”
Cole goes backstage as Christian & Heath look shocked in the ring.
Match: Christian and Heath Slater vs. Richie Steamboat and Zack Ryder
3 of 12Ryder comes out to join Steamboat to a huge pop! Richie and Zack slap hands and walk down the ramp with smiles on their faces.
They acknowledge the fans and enter the ring
Next, Christian and Slater come out to big heat. They both look focused and run straight to the ring. Christian stares down Richie as Zack & Heath start arguing. The referee pulls Heath & Richie away and Christian starts with Zack Ryder.
Christian and Ryder lock up. Christian hits a knee to the gut and then a punch to Ryder’s face before sending him down with a dropkick. He grabs Zack in a headlock, but Zack breaks out pretty quickly and builds some momentum. He nails Christian with two right hands and then hits a swinging neckbreaker.
Zack tags in Richie, who unleashes kicks on Christian. He goes for the cover but gets only a two count. He then hits a legdrop and tries the cover once again, but only gets a count of one. He tags in Ryder again and they hit a double-team move, connecting with frog splashes from the top rope. Heath looks worried on the apron and begs Christian to tag him.
Matthews: “Christian has been beaten up so far! Richie & Zack are working well as a team.”
Striker: “I know. No wonder Heath isn’t too happy; his partner has been isolated by the team of Richie & Zack!”
Christian tries to reach Heath for the tag, but Zack drags him into the centre of the ring and locks in a Boston crab! Christian looks in a lot of pain. Just before he taps out, Heath runs in and kicks the back of Ryder’s head before rolling out of the ring.
Zack releases the hold and goes after him, but he runs into a spinning spinebuster from Slater. Slater taunts the crowd before sending Zack back into the ring. Christian is up and hits a leg drop on Zack. He picks Zack up, hits the flashpoint and tags in the fresh Slater.
Slater grabs Ryder and props him up in the corner. Heath runs and dropkicks Zack into the turnbuckle! He picks up Ryder, puts him in the corner again and hits a running leg lariat that stuns Zack. He stumbles out into a huge powerslam from Slater, who only gets a two-count.
He drags Ryder up again, hits a DDT and taunts the crowd. He signals that he’s looking for E-Minor, but Zack ducks it and hits Slater with the Rough Ryder! Both men are down.
Matthews: “If Zack can get the tag, this could be the turning point in the match.”
Striker: “Zack caught Slater by surprise with that Rough Ryder. This match could go either way now!”
Christian distracts the ref and enters the ring, kicking Ryder’s head. He laughs at Richie and passes something to Heath and gets out of the ring before the ref turns round. Richie runs at Christian and hits a diving cross-body from the ring apron!
He gets up and drags Christian to his feet. He tries to hit a DDT/neckbreaker move on him but Christian wriggles free and runs to the back. Richie chases him.
With the ref distracted by the action on the outside, Heath hits a low blow on Ryder. He doesn’t fall, but Heath places something in his hand and he nails Ryder in the head with it.
Matthews: “Oh my God! Heath just used brass knucks on Ryder! This isn’t fair!’
Striker: “It doesn’t matter, Josh. The referee didn’t see it!”
Heath throws the brass knucks to the outside and pins Ryder to get the three-count.
Winners: Christian and Heath Slater
After the match, Christian’s standing at the top of the ramp and laughs as he holds the LHC belt. Heath taunts the crowd and makes his way up the ramp towards Christian. Ryder is down in the ring. Richie runs back to check on him as Christian celebrates with Heath at the top of the ramp.
Match: CM Punk vs. the Miz
4 of 12We go to ringside as Josh Matthews and Matt Striker recap what happened at the start of the show.
Mathews: “Punk has a heck of a challenge here tonight, facing The Miz.”
Striker: “Miz isn’t happy that he didn’t win the Intercontinental Championship on Sunday, Josh. Both men have a lot of built-up frustration to get out and the fans will be the winners here tonight. This could be a classic!”
"Awesome!" Miz’s music hits as he enters the arena. He looks p*ssed as he comes down the ramp and gets into the ring. Next up comes former WWE Champion CM Punk. Punk soaks in the adulation of the live crowd as he tells us: “It's clobberin’ time!” Punk struts down the aisle saluting the fans and gets into the ring.
The referee rings the bell as this match between two of SmackDown’s best gets underway!
Both men lock up and Miz quickly gets Punk into a standing side headlock. He’s wrenching down on Punk’s neck, but Punk nails a couple of quick elbows to Miz’s ribs to escape. He whips Miz into the ropes and nails him with a clothesline. Miz gets back up and Punk hits him with another clothesline.
Punk looks focused early on and picks Miz up. He whips him off the ropes and goes for another clothesline, but Miz ducks it and hits one of his own. With Punk down, Miz mounts him and nails him with lefts and rights. He’s in danger of being disqualified, but he gets off Punk before the ref counts to five.
Punk looks out of it and manages to stagger to the ropes. Miz runs at him and nails a big boot, knocking Punk to the outside.
Striker: “I think losing on Sunday has given The Miz a shot in the arm. He looks determined and downright dangerous!”
Mathews: “I don’t know if Punk’s going to get back in this. He looks like he’s still feeling the effects of that shot from Danielson’s briefcase on Sunday!”
Miz rolls outside and throws Punk back in the ring. He goes for a cover but only gets a two-count. He drags Punk back up and hits a running bulldog to get another two-count. Miz looks frustrated that he can’t put Punk away! He hits a picture-perfect standing dropkick on the former WWE Champion, but again Punk kicks out!
Josh: “Punk’s showing tremendous resiliency here. The kind of resiliency that made him WWE Champion.”
Matt: “No doubt about it Josh, but Punk might be best letting this match go and living to fight another day!”
Miz drags Punk up and hits a suplex, but doesn’t go for a cover. He mocks the crowd and tells us that he’s the best in the world.
Meantime, Punk has used the ropes to get up and Miz goes to hit another big boot, but Punk ducks it.
Punk whips Miz off the ropes and hits a tremendous spinning heel kick. He goes quickly for a cover, but only gets a two-count.
Miz is still down as Punk climbs to the top-rope. He points to the skies and hits a flying elbow, but he still only manages to get a two-count. Miz is out of it as Punk signals to the crowd that it’s time to go to sleep.
Miz stumbles up to his feet and Punk hoists him above his shoulders. He hits the GTS on Miz and covers him to get the three-count.
Winner: CM Punk
Mathews: “Well Matt, we’ve just seen a very competitive match between two of SmackDown’s best. In all honesty, it could’ve gone either way!”
Striker: “Miz might feel disappointed, but Punk showed the mark of a champion there and found a way to win. Props to both guys for what was a great match!”
Mathews: “Coming up next, we’re going to hear from the New Intercontinental Champion, Alberto del Rio!”
Promo: In the Ring with Alberto Del Rio
5 of 12We’re back from commercial as Tony Chimel introduces Ricardo Rodriguez. Ricardo does his usual intro for del Rio but adds that he’s the new Intercontinental Champion. Del Rio comes out to the ring and holds his belt up high as his pyro goes off. Nice touch!
Alberto’s got his ring gear on and a mic in hand as he gets into the ring.
Alberto: “Michael Cole, I told you weeks ago that I was sick of having no competition, so you put me in a gauntlet match for this Intercontinental Championship with four other superstars. Well, guess what, amigo? I beat all of them. It doesn’t matter who I pinned, the fact is that I walked out of WrestleMania as the new champion! (holds the title high)
I’m going to bring prestige back to this championship. Too many pendejos have held this title. Instead of being a respected title, it’s become nothing more than a joke. I mean come on, can a joker like Santino Marella really be compared to someone like me, the amazing Alberto del Rio?”
Michael Cole’s music hits and out comes the SmackDown general manager to a mixed reaction. Standing from the stage, he addresses the new champion.
Cole: “Congratulations on your victory on Sunday, Alberto, but you had an advantage. You entered the match fifth, after the other contestants had already competed once. It’s going to be different next week.”
Alberto: “What are you talking about, Cole?"
Cole: “Well, there’s a man here tonight who has the right to face you for the IC Title, courtesy of the rematch clause in his contract. That man’s name is Santino Marella. You’ll be facing him right here on SmackDown next week for your Intercontinental Championship!”
Alberto: “Ha ha. Cole, Santino isn’t at my level. I’ll beat him easily.”
At that, Alberto tries to leave the ring, but Cole interrupts him.
Cole: “Alberto, you’re not done here tonight. You’re going to be one of four participants in a special tag-team match. You’ll team with another former champion, Cody Rhodes, to take on the team of Santino Marella and Dolph Ziggler!”
The crowd goes nuts for Cole’s announcement.
Cole: “Oh, and Alberto, that match…is next!”
Del Rio throws a fit in the ring, going crazy, as Cody Rhodes passes Cole on the way to the ring.
Match: Alberto Del Rio and Cody Rhodes vs. Santino Marella and Dolph Ziggler
6 of 12We’re back from commercial to see Alberto & Cody discussing tactics as Dolph Ziggler’s music hits and he comes out to a huge pop, followed by former Intercontinental Champion Santino Marella.
Santino looks focused tonight as both men run to the ring. Before the referee can ring the bell, Dolph & Alberto and Santino & Cody are going at it, exchanging rights and lefts. The ref’s lost control already and calls for help from the back.
More officials rush out down the ramp and eventually manage to separate the two teams. With both teams contained, the ref rings the bell and we’re going to start this match with Cody Rhodes and Dolph Ziggler.
Both men lock up and Cody takes control early, forcing Dolph into the turnbuckle. The ref tries to get Cody to break the hold, but he nails Ziggler with a hard right hand. Ziggler runs out of the corner and mounts Cody, catching him with lefts and rights.
Matthews: “This is a side of Ziggler that we rarely see, folks. He tends to keep his anger contained, but Rhodes may have crossed the line there!”
Ziggler runs off the ropes and catches Cody with a low-drop kick. He drags him up and connects with a suplex. Santino’s screaming at Ziggler to tag him in and Dolph obliges. The crowd explodes as Santino comes in. They’re chanting, “Santino! Santino!”
Rhodes is still down selling the suplex from Ziggler as Santino picks him up. With Rhodes still staggering, Santino hits a perfect standing dropkick that knocks Cody into his corner. Alberto del Rio takes the liberty of tagging himself in.
Striker: “Ladies and gentlemen, we’re getting a preview of what’s going to happen next week as these two gladiators square up to each other.”
Alberto points at Santino and laughs at him, so Marella nails him with a right hand. Del Rio gets back up and Santino catches him with another right hand. Santino whips Alberto into the ropes and misses with a clothesline, but he catches Del Rio on the rebound with another right hand.
Matthews: “This crowd is loving everything that Santino does. He’s a huge favourite of our SmackDown audience!”
Del Rio gets back to his feet as Santino’s running the ropes and he connects with a cross-body! He goes for the cover, but Alberto manages to get his shoulder up before the three-count. Del Rio rolls quickly over to his corner and tags Rhodes back in.
Cody runs at Santino and misses with a clothesline. With Rhodes off balance, Santino gets him into a headlock and connects with a running bulldog. He covers Rhodes, but again, can only get a two count.
Santino tags Ziggler in and the "Show-Off" looks like he’s going to steal this particular show! He sizes Rhodes up and kicks him in the gut, before connecting with the Fame-A--er! He gets a two-count.
Striker: “Cody’s taken a lot of punishment here and del Rio doesn’t even look like he wants to get into this match.”
With Cody still down, Dolph slingshots him into the top turnbuckle! As Cody stumbles out of the corner, Dolph hits him with the Zig-Zag and covers him in the middle of the ring to get the 1-2-3 for his team!
Winners: Santino Marella & Dolph Ziggler
Post-match, Dolph and Santino celebrate their win in the middle of the ring as Alberto sulks back up the ramp, desperately clutching his newly-won Intercontinental Championship as we cut to commercial.
Promo: In the Ring with John Cena
7 of 12We come back from commercial with Matt Striker in the ring. He asks John Cena to come out and join him. Cena’s music hits and the audience boos him out of the building! Even though he’s not there, the crowd are chanting for the "People’s Champion," The Rock.
Cena gets into the ring with a mic in his hand as Striker starts the interview:
Striker: “John, I wanted to get your thoughts on the epic match that you had with The Rock this past Sunday at WrestleMania.”
Cena: “Simply put, I can’t believe I lost that match. I dominated from start to finish. Rock’s win came out of nowhere and it was a fluke. I deserved to win that match, because I’m the best wrestler in the world.”
Striker: “John, with all due respect, if you lost to The Rock on Sunday, doesn’t that make him the best in the world?”
Cena: “See Matt, that’s why you’re sitting at ringside and I’m fighting every night. No, The Rock isn’t better than me. He couldn’t do that again if he tried. I lost my cool for one second and it cost me. He caught me off-guard and got a lucky pinfall.”
Striker: “The Rock may have won the match, but what comments do you have for the returning Chris Jericho, who made an immediate impact on Sunday?”
Cena: “Jericho? He’s another one who thinks he can just walk back in here whenever he likes and take my spot. The Rock tried it and look at him now. If Jericho tries to do the same, he’s going to end up getting an Attitude Adjustment.”
With that, Cena throws his mic down and leaves the ring as his music blares out of the arena.
Match: Kharma vs. AJ
8 of 12We’re still at ringside as Josh Matthews goes over what happened on last week’s SmackDown when Kharma carried a lifeless AJ to the ring and Death Rey cut a promo about how dominant she’d been until Natalya interfered. It seems like AJ is going to pay for Natalya’s interference by facing Kharma tonight.
AJ’s music hits as she gingerly walks out to the ring. She looks terrified, like she doesn’t want to be here. Next, Kharma walks out without Death Rey and stands at the top of the ring. She’s laughing and looks at AJ as if she could eat her for dinner.
Kharma gets into the ring as AJ cowers in the corner. The ref looks like he doesn’t want to ring the bell, but he’s got no choice and this match is underway. AJ hasn’t moved from the corner since Kharma came out and she’s in no rush to get things underway.
Kharma stalks AJ and walks slowly towards the corner. AJ is scared stiff. Kharma grabs AJ by the hair and pulls her into the middle of the ring. AJ is screaming as Kharma picks her up and slams her to the mat. Kharma hasn’t even broken a sweat. She looks at AJ, who’s lying limp in the ring. She licks her lips and picks AJ up, nailing the Implant Buster on her.
Kharma arrogantly covers AJ with her foot as the ref counts to 3.
Winner: Kharma
Post-match, Kharma continues to beat down on AJ before Death Rey comes out to the ring. She’s got a mic in hand:
“Natalya, you see what’s happened to poor little AJ? That’s what’s going to happen to every single Diva on SmackDown until we get to you and when we do, you’ll find out that karma… is a bitch!”
Promo: Backstage with Air Boom
9 of 12The cameras go backstage as we see Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne talking over their successful title defense at WrestleMania.
Kofi: “I can’t believe what a buzz that was, man. We went out there and entertained the world at WrestleMania, retaining our tag team championships.”
Before Evan can reply, Curt Hawkins & Tyler Reks interrupt them.
Hawkins: “You may have got the win on Sunday, but we dominated from start to finish. We made a statement that we’re the best tag team on SmackDown. It’s only a matter of time before we take what’s ours—those WWE Tag Team Title belts.”
Hawkins & Reks walk off as Air Boom look worried and grab their title belts.
Main Event: Bryan Danielson vs. Big Show in a Steel Cage Match
10 of 12As we come back from commercial, it’s time for tonight’s main-event, which sees new WWE Champion Bryan Danielson battle Big Show inside a Steel Cage.
Well, it's the Big Show! His music hits and he comes out to a great pop.
Show looks like he likes the idea of being locked inside a steel cage with the much smaller Danielson. Show’s beaming from ear-to-ear as he walks up the stairs and into the ring. He tests out the cage to make sure it’s strong enough.
Out next is the new WWE Champion, Bryan Danielson. Danielson still looks p*ssed that general manager Michael Cole has made this match.
Danielson walks slowly to the ring, studying the cage to look for an exit. Bryan eventually gets into the ring, where he’s confronted by the sheer size of the task that awaits him. Show is towering over Danielson as the ref rings the bell.
With the match underway, Show tries to hit Danielson with a clothesline, but Bryan ducks it and tries to get out through the cage door! Show grabs hold of the champ and whips him into the corner. Show stalks Bryan and tells the crowd to be quiet as he nails Bryan with a huge chop.
Matthews: “Matt, that’s gotta be like getting hit in the chest with a frying pan!”
Striker: “Luckily, I don’t have to feel that. I wouldn’t wanna be in Danielson’s shoes here, it looks like Show is going to toy with him!”
Bryan stumbles out of the corner. Big Show whips him into the ropes and headfirst into the cage. Bryan bounces straight out into a clothesline from the big man. Show whips Danielson into the turnbuckle and hits a massive splash on him. Bryan stumbles out of the corner and falls to the mat.
Striker: “As JR would say, put a fork in him, he’s done!”
As Show kneels over Danielson to pick him up, Danielson hits Show with a thumb to the eye, blinding the big man. With his vision impaired, Bryan kicks Big Show’s legs until he goes down to one knee. Danielson runs off the ropes and hits a big dropkick on Show. He covers Show, but only gets a two-count. Show kicks out with authority.
Big Show gets up and he looks angry. He whips Danielson into the ropes, but Bryan jumps to the second turnbuckle and hits a tornado DDT on Show! Tremendous move from the champion. Danielson knows that he probably can’t pin Big Show, so he manages to get him into the LaBell Lock!
Show’s in the middle of the ring with nowhere to go and Danielson’s really got it cinched in. He’s tearing at Show’s elbow and he’s screaming at him to tap. Despite being in the hold for several minutes, Show refuses to tap and Danielson eventually releases the hold. With Show down selling the injury to his arm, Bryan climbs to the top of the cage and it looks like he’s going to escape!
Before he can drop down to the mat, Show climbs up to meet him. Show goes to hit Bryan with a WMD, but he misjudges it and punches the cage! The force of the punch knocks Bryan off the cage and he falls to the mat to claim a victory!
Winner: WWE Champion Daniel Bryan
Post-match: Bryan knows he’s had a lucky escape and makes his way to the back as Big Show sells the damage to his arm at the top of the cage.
Matthews: “Ladies and gentlemen, after these commercials, we’re going to hear from the man who made his shocking return to WWE at the end of the Rock vs. Cena match on Sunday. His name is Chris Jericho and he’ll be here next.”
Promo: In the Ring with Chris Jericho
11 of 12We come back from commercial and the arena’s in darkness. Bit by bit, the lights come back on as Jericho’s music hits and he comes down the aisle into the ring.
Matthews: “Hopefully, we’re going to get an explanation about why Jericho laid out The Rock with a steel chair on Sunday!”
Jericho grabs a mic and addresses the crowd: “You’re welcome! There’s no need to thank me. Because of one man, me, the cancer of the WWE is gone! You people will never, ever see The Rock again!”
The crowd is all over Jericho, chanting for The Rock as loud as they ever have.
“Didn’t you see how easy it was for me to take him out? That’s why I’m the best in the world at everything I do. I took my time, waited for my opportunity and made a statement. Nobody else can do what I do.
Rock never suspected a thing, that’s the beauty of it. He overcame Cena, but he never saw the return of the saviour of the WWE. Rock couldn’t see me! (Jericho mocks Cena by using his taunt, waving his hand in front of his face)
That brings me to someone else. Now that I’m back in the WWE, there’s only one more thing I have to do. Get rid of John Cena. (staring at the camera) Cena, you will step aside for me. I’m the face of this company, not you. Believe me, I have big, big plans for SmackDown and the WWE will never be the same again!”
With that short statement, Jericho drops the mic and walks back up the ramp to end the show.
Matthews: “What the hell does that mean? What plans does Jericho have?”
Striker: “I guess this means that SmackDown is going to be a heck of a lot more interesting now that Jericho’s back. I can’t wait for next week.”
And That's a Wrap!
