WWE News: Major Update on Undertaker's WWE and WrestleMania Future

Drake OzApr 11, 2012

It happens every year.

The Undertaker extends his WrestleMania streak, and the speculation immediately begins about his future at the pay-per-view and in the WWE in general.

Who will he face at next year’s WrestleMania? Will he even compete at WrestleMania next year? Will he wrestle before then?

That speculation is undoubtedly still going on right now, but no worries, because we have the latest update on Undertaker’s future with the company.

From F4Wonline.com (via WrestleNewz.com):

"

As noted before, people backstage at WrestleMania 28 were talking about how good The Undertaker looked in the ring and the belief is that he will at least work WrestleMania 29. Word now is that Taker will likely work several more WrestleMania events from here on out.

"

To put it simply, I think that The Undertaker looked phenomenal at WrestleMania 28.

He put on a five-star classic with Triple H and looked both well-rested and healthy, which brings me to my next point: Why would he retire now?

While I don’t want Undertaker to wrestle forever and would love to see him go out on top, the bottom line is that “he still has it.” The guy can flat-out go, even at 47 years old, and there’s no real reason why that shouldn’t continue.

If Taker wants to call it a career, then so be it. He’s earned the right to retire on his own terms.

But over the last few years, Undertaker has only been required to wrestle one match per year, and then, he can go sip margaritas with Michelle McCool on the beach for the rest of the year.

Undertaker makes some serious money just by competing at WrestleMania, and he doesn’t have to put his body at risk all year long or be on the road 250-plus days a year.

If he’s feeling as good as he looked at WrestleMania 28, then I wouldn’t be surprised to see him compete at WrestleManias 29, 30 and perhaps even beyond.

Note: As part of the new WWE blog, I'll be asking all of the B/R wrestling readers for questions for a new mailbag that I will post on Fridays. It will be a slideshow featuring 10-20 questions and answers on a wide range of topics. You can submit questions either through Formspring or Twitter, and the best ones will be answered in the B/R mailbag.
