2012 NFL Draft: Robert Griffin III, Andrew Luck Reportedly Meeting with Redskins

Josh MartinApr 10, 2012

The Washington Redskins are getting a good, long look at the future of the franchise as they meet with Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III on Tuesday.

According to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Redskins are sitting down with RG3 earlier in the day and Luck later on, after the Stanford star arrives in DC from a visit with the Indianapolis Colts.

The Colts are expected to select Luck with the first overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, leaving Griffin , the Heisman Trophy winner out of Baylor, as the most likely option to fill the Redskins' long-standing void at quarterback.

Griffin has opted not to conduct private workouts for the Colts or the Redskins, as he feels no need to put his health at risk when he's practically assured of being taken with one of the first two picks in the draft.

Washington sent the sixth-overall pick, a 2012 second-rounder and first-rounders in 2013 and 2014 to the St. Louis Rams in exchange for the second-overall selection and the right to add either Luck or Griffin as a result.

The Redskins have long sought a consistent signal caller to return the team to its former glory, but have failed to find a long-term solution after spending first-round picks on the likes of Patrick Ramsey and Jason Campbell.

After today, they'll have a much better idea as to whether either one of their most likely options in this year's draft is capable of turning the tide.
