Wrestlemania 25: The Roads, The Possibilities, & The No Chances in Hell

AkDJan 21, 2009

Hello B/R, its Al again, but I shortened the name to Akd, my initials. Anyway on to more important things like Wrestlemania 25.

I have heard many good ideas and some well....not so good at all. I'll address ECW very quickly. So Jack Swagger is champion. (what a name).

Anyway, there shouldn't be much hype and/or storyline effort going into Wrestlemania's 25th anniversary for "the land of extreme." Who will face Swagger? My answer? Who cares?

On to John Cena.  The one thing people do not seem to fathom is that WWE utilizes Cena in such a way that we cannot see him outside of the title picture. It would just be weird. I highly doubt WWE would exclude him from the main event.

Smackdown seems to have more options than Raw, as the biggest main event Raw can deliver is another Cena vs. Orton. So we have both Hardys and Edge and the soon returning Christian.

On a side note, Matt should spend more time worrying about the ECW title than his brother who doesn't look like he'll be WWE champ for much longer.

I can imagine the main event they can pull out of this, but to be realistic Triple H will most likely main event against Edge.

I would like if the Austin talk would come to a halt. He is just too old and his history of injuries still continue to plague him. No Austin vs Hogan. Hogan just loves coming back around this time, doesn't he? Come on, it's Wrestlemania!

Showcase of the immortals, he loves all the Hulkamaniacs....and that six-figure paycheck, of course. Expect an appearance from the Hulkster.

Now back to Raw. After Orton punted the living daylights out of Vince McMahon, there has been constant buzzing and WWE didn't fail to deliver something to talk about in recent years.

So what's in store for Orton, huh? In another article of mine, I speculated that Stephanie is working with Orton. I still believe that is the case.

I got a comment or two disagreeing with my theory. That is fine, however their outlook was Orton vs. Vince McMahon at WM25. That is not only foolish but it wastes Orton's talent. Vince only fights legends at Wrestlemania. e.g., HBK, Hogan.

Vince vs. Orton wouldn't be a good match. You have an elite performer who I think at this point can produce classics. Also to add despite his recent surge, Orton probably hasn't reached his prime yet.

So he is going to get a monumental push unseen since the likes of Austin just to face Mr. McMahon at Wrestlemania? Sorry that isn't happening and a Austin vs Orton match is nearly impossible.

Orton will probably be involved with the McMahons down the line; one of them will have Orton's side. I can only see Orton facing Cena. I have also heard of HBK vs. JBL as an main event option as well.

HBK at the age of 42 can still put on a show as if he was still 20. But JBL? He can't sell moves for a bag of beans and he is extremely out of shape, and who would Cena face?

JBL vs. Shawn Michaels at this point is inevitable but I really doubt it would be for the World heavyweight championship. With Batista gone (thank goodness..what a muscle head), the choices are really limited.

I don't expect Triple H to win the Rumble, but I expect an Elimination Chamber win. The only things that might be difficult to predict will be who's next to take the fall for Undertaker who hasn't yet.

Oops!! I meant his WM25 opponent and the Money in the Bank match that has lost hype it had when it first came debuted. Edge and RVD are the only MITB winners who benefited from it.

The MITB should consist of mid-card talents who aren't involved in a story and might just be ripe for a push.

Expect the athletically gifted Shelton Benjamin to participate again, expect Cena to walk in champion, expect Triple H to somehow survive Vickie's wrath and make it to the main event, and expect Orton, HBK, Edge, and Jericho to have phenomenal performances.

I don't know if they are planning to do anything with the tag titles, but definitely expect Miz and Morrison to be a part of the festivities. Kane and Rey are two people in limbo. Anything is possible for these guys..hopefully not Knox vs Rey.

Women's championship and or Divas championship should be on the line. Rosa Mendes (Beth Phoenix's No. 1 fan) will play a role in the Women's title's storyline in the months to come, regardless of whether Beth loses or wins against Melina at the Rumble.

MVP and Kennedy are in limbo as well. Will they face each other? Will they tag? Will they both be in the MITB? Certainly they both will be part of the show.

Speaking of the show, what about The Big Show? Luckily there is a month and a half after the rumble to build up for Wrestlemania so we'll see where the directions certain wrestlers are heading.
