WWE News: Wrestler Says That Brock Lesnar Will 'Crack' During Current WWE Run

Drake OzJun 7, 2018

Brock Lesnar is back in the WWE, and his return to the organization has resulted in some interesting reactions.

There is the expected excitement from people who believe that Lesnar will help the WWE and pro wrestling as a whole, as well as the expected resentment from wrestlers who feel like Lesnar is pulling a Rock and “stealing their spot.”

But one interesting reaction that we haven’t heard about yet is the thought that Lesnar won’t be able to make it in the WWE. Believe it or not, one wrestler thinks that Lesnar isn’t going to last through the entire course of his reported one-year contract.

Given Brock Lesnar’s admitted distaste for WWE’s strenuous road schedule, there is skepticism on the accomplished grappler remaining content for the entire one-year duration of his contract with the sports entertainment organization. One veteran wrestler who worked with Lesnar during his prior run with WWE doesn’t think that he will able to handle working for the promotion for an entire year.

The wrestler said to Pro Wrestling Torch editor Wade Keller on Monday night following Raw, “I give him four months before he cracks.”

Lesnar loathed the travel schedule so much that in 2003 he bought a private plane and hired a pilot to alleviate the stress of going through airports. Even with that and a seven-year contract for a $1 million downside guarantee, he ultimately gave notice that he would finish up at WrestleMania XX.

As you probably know, Lesnar has made it pretty clear that he isn’t a fan of the WWE’s stressful road schedule and that it was one of the main reasons he left the company way back in 2003.

Lesnar has also let it be known that he isn’t exactly in love with pro wrestling, and in fact, it’s sometimes seemed as though he doesn’t even like it. At all.

So, I can see why someone might speculate that Lesnar will “crack” at some point during his current WWE run. I just don’t think that it’s going to happen.

There’s a major difference between being on the road 250-plus days a year and having a limited schedule that reportedly has Lesnar working only twice a month

My thoughts on the situation: If someone “cracks” when working two or three days out of every 30, then he has absolutely no business being a pro wrestler in the first place.

I might agree that Lesnar would “crack” or at least get incredibly stressed out if he was working house shows, all TV tapings and pay-per-views, but he’s not going to do that. He’s going to be a part-timer who shows up on TV maybe every other week or so and then wrestles on a handful of PPVs.

If someone can work 50 hours a week for a minimum wage job that pays them less than $400, then I think Lesnar can “suck it up” and work a few days a month for a cool $5 million.

Note: As part of the new WWE blog, I'll be asking all of the B/R wrestling readers for questions for a new mailbag that I will post on Fridays. It will be a slideshow featuring 10-20 questions and answers on a wide range of topics. You can submit questions either through Formspring or Twitter, and the best ones will be answered in the B/R mailbag.
