Katsidis’ Keys to Victory

The former champion is one of the best boxers in the world, but he wasn’t taking everything as seriously as he should have been. With a loss to shake his psyche, the boxer has jumped weight classes and has his eyes set on a career reinvention. If Katsidis gets in and does damage early, this fight will be all his.

Mensah’ Keys to Victory

Mensah is the great unknown in this equation, coming off 15 straight wins but none of his opponents are near the caliber of Katsidis. While this could mean an easy day for the former WBO champion, Mensah may be the underestimated fighter that could walk into Las Vegas and shock the world.

What They’re Saying

Katsidis told Doghouse Boxing what he knows about his opponent and how he is preparing for the fight:

"

I do not know a lot about Mensah. With the African fighters you don’t ever know what you are going to get. From my experience at this level of boxing, it is always best to expect the unexpected. This is the sport I am in. I am about doing the business and leaving nothing to chance. I’m going to go as far as I believe I can go. I will be victorious. This has been a great training camp, with some great changes to my routine. The best factor is being able to see my family at the end of each day, and being able to spend quality time with my daughter on my days off.

"

Prediction

Mensah has a shot coming into this Friday Night Fights event, but he is outmatched against a world-class talent like Michael Katsidis. With a reinvented mindset and a style shift to suit the weight class jump, this fight will be a short-lived brawl that has Katsidis mopping the floor with his opponent.

Winner: Michael Katsidis via TKO in the fifth round
