WWE: Could Chris Jericho's Real-Life Alcohol Issues Tie into Feud W/ CM Punk?

The feud between CM Punk and Chris Jericho has started to reach the high expectations that came with it.

Their match at WrestleMania 28 was impressive, but it didn't steal the show. Jericho's mind games have become the main angle of their rivalry and he has brought Punk's straight-edge lifestyle and family issues into it.

Jericho has tried to get in Punk's head by reminding him of the problems in his personal life. He has tried to embarrass Punk and tried to take him off his game.

He has discussed Punk's father being an abusive alcoholic, his sister having issues with drugs and his mother giving birth to him without being married to his father. This angle has reminded WWE fans just how good of a heel Jericho is.

What is missing is Punk's "pipe bomb" response to all of this. Punk could turn this on Jericho and bring his personal problems with alcohol into this feud.

Jericho has had issues with alcohol. He admitted to getting a DUI in Los Angeles in 2006. In his book "Undisputed," Jericho discusses that he had to attend mandated AA meetings.

Jericho also got in a fight with former WWE wrestler, Gregory Helms. The two were arrested because they were intoxicated in a public place. The Wrestling Observer reported that Punk was the one that posted Jericho's bail.

Punk could use these incidents to turn the table on Jericho in this rivalry. Punk has been getting bested each week by Jericho. Bringing Jericho's past issues with alcohol into this feud could be an interesting angle for Punk and help the WWE Champion get back at him.

Punk rose to the top of the company by owning his opponents on the mic and in the ring. He started dropping his pipe bombs each week and the fans bought into him.

In his feud with Jericho, Punk has yet to really match him on the mic. These two wrestlers are gifted with mic skills, which is why there is much to be desired from their feud. Jericho has been cutting some of the best promos and making this rivalry one of the best in a long time.

Punk needs to drop a "pipe bomb" on Jericho, and he could do that by bringing Jericho's real-life alcohol issues into the feud.
