Report: Kansas Head Coach Bill Self Says Thomas Robinson Heading to NBA

Just as Thomas Robinson announces that his decision will be made public on Monday, his head coach offers up a spoiler alert: Thomas Robinson is heading to the NBA.

According to ESPN's Andy Katz, Kansas coach Bill Self told him that Robinson's press conference is to announce his decision to go pro. While many have wondered what Robinson's decision will be, Self seems to have a good idea of what's to come. Considering how close the two have grown over the past three seasons, it's hard to imagine Self is wrong.

Robinson is widely considered to be a lock for a top-five draft choice, solidifying his status in that category upon leading the Kansas Jayhawks to the NCAA Tournament final. Although Kansas came up short, Robinson showed he was on the same level as the Kentucky underclassmen who are expected to dominate the first round of the 2012 NBA draft.

This is yet another chapter unfolding in the tragedy-turned-triumph story of Thomas Robinson. One can only hope that he and his younger sister will benefit from this move as well as the team that drafts him.
