Masters Live Streaming 2012: Best Place to Catch Rory McIlroy's Final Round

Jun 7, 2018

With the 2012 Masters golf tournament heading into its final day of action, the excitement over where Irish star Rory McIlroy will end up after last year’s final-day meltdown is at the forefront.

The young star had four-stroke lead at 12-under par heading into the final day of action Augusta in 2011 before the wheels completely came off.

McIlroy went on to finish Sunday tying record for worst final round in history with a plus-8 that ultimately cost him a chance at a green jacket. This year will be different, though.

Why We’re Watching Rory

What many diehard and casual fans seem to forget at times that McIlroy is only 22 years old and those meltdowns will happen. Especially that young.

Look at greats like Ben Hogan and Arnold Palmer, who had memorable tournament blowups in their careers as well. The difference will be how McIlroy responds on Sunday to his troubles on Saturday.

"

Seems like every year I come here, I throw a bad nine holes out there. Forty-two today wasn’t a great effort. But the good thing is it wasn’t on the last day.

"

Now sitting in 27th place, McIlroy is far enough away from contention to be a non-factor, but still close enough to make a final run towards the top with a stellar final round.

If the young Irishman can shake the final-round demons now, once he gets it all together, a Masters victory will not be far behind.
