Running Back

Chantel Jennings reports on the running back situation that's solid at the top, with Fitzgerald Toussaint locking down the position.

Offensive coordinator Al Borges sounded off on the luxury of taking things slowly with their budding star running back this spring, via ESPN.

"

We don't have to overuse Fitz in the spring, yet still try to improve him. I'm not talking, sit him on the sideline and let him watch, he's still playing now. But that being said, it isn't like last spring, where we have to run him and run him and find out what he can do. We kind of know what he can do.

"

That leaves the Wolverines to beat the bushes to find a suitable backup ready to take significant reps in the backfield.

Redshirt freshman Justice Hayes is a dark horse to steal the job, coming off a season where he featured heavily as a receiver as well. The versatility is paying off so far.

Will Campbell

There are high expectations for Will Campbell coming into the 2012 season. He showed marked improvement last season and will play an integral part to the Wolverines front this year.

ESPN's Michael Rothstein catches up with the program on their star who has dropped weight and looks every bit ready to take his play up another notch.

Brady Hoke is pleased with the now 315-pound tackle and is ready for him to infuse the last part of his game that has been missing, and that's consistency.

Last, we take a look at the man who will have the full weight of pressure on his shoulders this season. Robinson is saying the right things headed into the new season, realizing it will take more than a big arm and flashy plays to win, via ESPN

"

I'm taking on a leadership role, trying to be the best quarterback I can be for the team, and be the best leader I can be for the team. Right now, just trying to get better at everything I can get better at.

"

Things are shaping up nicely for Michigan, but there's still a lot of work that needs to be done. Having a player like Robinson keyed in for the season will prove vital moving forward.
