WWE Rumors: John Cena Is the Wrong Opponent for Undertaker at WrestleMania 29
While the dust is still settling on The Undertaker's brutal victory over Triple H at WrestleMania 28, the plans are in motion to have him put The Streak on the line against none other than John Cena next year.
According to a report from Bryan Alvarez of Figure Four Weekly, a tentative WrestleMania 29 lineup has been talked about by the creative team, with Cena and Undertaker in the third match from the top. (The other two are Brock Lesnar vs. The Rock and CM Punk vs. Steve Austin.)
There seems to be a mentality right now that you just have to put Undertaker against the biggest possible name at WrestleMania. It has happened in the last six years, starting with his match against Batista in 2007, then continuing with Edge, Shawn Michaels and Triple H in the years since.

Certainly, those matches have all worked well and ended up being some the best and most memorable WWE bouts of the last six years. However, Cena is not the right opponent to keep The Streak going.
As great as Cena is for WWE and how important he is for business, he is not a good worker. There have been times when he has caught lightning in a bottle, but that was usually when he was working with a great in-ring performer.
At this point in time, Undertaker can't be put in a situation where he has to carry a match with a mediocre worker. Even though Triple H isn't nearly the worker he used to be, he has a much better understanding of how to put together a match and how to sell things than a lot of people.
Cena is not incapable of putting together that kind of performance, but we see it happen so rarely that you have to doubt it would happen in this particular match.
Fans have an incredibly high standard for Undertaker at WrestleMania because these last few years have been so great. There can't be any kind of letdown in the match itself.
As far as a big-name opponent, Cena is perfect for Undertaker. But getting the match to live up to the standards set in recent years, Cena is not the right fit.
