Masters 2012: Tiger Woods Is Playing Steady Golf in Round 1

Earlier this morning, Tiger Woods teed off at Augusta National, starting his first round.

He's been playing steady golf for his first eight holes, but seems to be a little conservative, which should serve him well at this golf course.

Woods pared his first two holes, before making a remarkable birdie at the tough par-four third hole. He cruised along with three straight pars but stumbled at the seventh when he missed an eight-foot putt for par.

Again, Woods' dominance of the par-fives led him to another birdie at the eighth, and he now sits at one-under-par for the tournament and is looking to make the turn.

There are two more par fives for Woods to capitalize on, and hopefully he can birdie those and end his round on a high note.

Woods is five back of leader Henrik Stenson, who is at six-under-par, and is looking to make up ground as he makes the turn and plays the back nine at Augusta National.

Woods made a birdie on the tenth hole and moved to two-under-par. He didn't capitalize on the par-fives on the back nine, and pared in all the way until the final two holes. Woods stumbled on the seventeenth and the eighteenth, making bogeys to close out his round.

He is currently at even par with a round of 72, and is four back of leader Lee Westwood.
