MLB Opening Night 2012 Live Blog: Cardinals Beat Marlins, 4-0, in Kyle Lohse Gem
That's it for opening night from Marlins Park.
The Cardinals' 4-0 victory over the Marlins probably wasn't as exciting a game as MLB would've preferred for its prime-time showcase to open the 2012 season. Unless you're a big Kyle Lohse fan or have him on your fantasy team, nobody provided a lot of highlights. (And if Lohse is on your fantasy team, he didn't give you many strikeouts. Sorry.)
Although Rafael Furcal and David Freese had strong games for the Cardinals, both batting 3-for-5. Furcal showed that he might not need spring training.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
The disappointments were all on the Marlins' side tonight. Josh Johnson was knocked around by the Cardinals' lineup. And the Miami batters had no answers for Lohse and the three relievers who pitched after him.
Much appreciation to my B/R colleague, Mike Rosenbaum, as well. Make sure you say hello to him on Thursday, as he'll be live-blogging the Braves-Mets and Red Sox-Tigers openers. And check him out at Prospect Pipeline to keep up on baseball's top minor leaguers.
Thanks to everyone who participated in tonight's live blog, either through posting comments here or to me on Twitter at @iancass. I'll see you throughout the week at Horsehide Chronicles.
