Wrestlemania 28 Results: WWE Makes It Clear Sheamus Is Next Big Thing
Forget The Rock, CM Punk and Undertaker…the result that has the biggest impact on WWE going forward is the Sheamus squash of Daniel Bryan.
Not only was it the opening match with the entire WWE nation giving their full attention, but it was the most one-sided event of the night. Daniel Bryan took a Brogue Kick to the face and that was all she wrote, only 18 seconds into the match.
Clearly the powers that be behind the scenes wanted to propel Sheamus to the next level of WWE stardom.

What better way to show the casual fan what the Irishman is all about than having his patented move on full display. It was just the latest in a series of events that suggest the creative team is trying to elevate him to the next level.
Coming into the Royal Rumble on a 12-match winning streak he fended off Chris Jericho for the shocking win. He then earned the right to compete for the World Heavyweight championship.
He has worked his way through the WWE ranks since debuting back in 2007 and has reached the point of being able to call himself the Heavyweight Champion without any sort of backlash from the WWE universe.
Sheamus was already a star before Sunday night’s triumph.
He is the face of those quirky K-Mart commercials that are plastered all over Monday Night Raw. ESPN’s sports video game expert Jon Robinson (what a gig) spoke with THQ, the creators of the WWE 12 game, and told him that the 303,654 online matches played with the Sheamus character make him at the very top of the list of wrestlers used in the game.
The K-Mart spot tell us that WWE believes he is mainstream enough to appear in one of their most lucrative advertising spots. The video game stat tells us that hardcore wrestling fans are just as infatuated with the only man that is whiter than sun tan lotion.
Sure his mic skills need work and sure he will never appeal to the masses that rip on his incredibly pale body, but there is enough going on with his Irish heritage and outstanding ring work to believe he is the next big thing.
Hope you’re ready for the Sheamus takeover.
