Links to the Best in NFC North Coverage, 4/4/2012 Edition

Andrew GardaApr 4, 2012

Welcome to the Wednesday edition of our NFC North Links. The preseason schedule is supposed to come out today, so keep an eye out on the blog later for some thoughts on that once it drops.

Meanwhile, here's some stuff from around the internet to keep you busy and out of trouble (someone pass this to the Lions, please...)

Detroit Lions

Of course, by now you've heard yet another Lion was arrested for possession of marijuana as Nick Fairley was in trouble down in Mobile.

While most think the actions of both Fairley and running back Mikel LeShoure are minor, Detroit Free Press columnist Drew Sharp thinks this is anything but minor and should be treated with swift and total justice by the team.

I'll have my thoughts on what three drug arrests in two months (not counting Johnny Culbreath's fine back in January) might mean—if anything—a little later.

Meanwhile, Dave Birkett shares his thoughts about which Lions games could get on national television this year.

Chicago Bears

The Bears were out in full force at Notre Dame's pro day, Chicago Tribune reporter Vaughn McClure reports. Keep an eye on Harrison Smith.

Players are really happy with the new jerseys, by the way—especially a more prominent GSH.

Minnesota Vikings

Jeremy Fowler of the Pioneer Press reports that running back Adrian Peterson ran on Tuesday for the first time since his season-ending surgery and that the results were good. Vikings fans are now allowed to exhale.

Apparently anxious to get them over with, the Vikings are hosting all 30 of their pre-draft visits this week according to Star Tribune writer Mark Craig.

Green Bay Packers

We might finally have some answers as to Nick Collins' status for the 2012 season, as Rob Demovsky of the Green Bay Press-Gazette reports Collins and his agent will be talking to the team perhaps as soon as next week.

JSOnline writers Tyler Dunne and Bob McGinn take a look at newly-signed defensive lineman Anthony Hargrove. I know a lot of Packer fans seem to be excited by him, though I think he will take some time before we see results.
