WWE Raw 4/2: Ranking the Moments

Julian SalinasJun 7, 2018

From a great WrestleMania that had its awesome matches and moments, you really had to expect an epic Monday Night Raw to follow it. And I believe it rightfully did.

Almost everything was perfect. The crowd that witnessed the April 1st event enjoyed a great night, and they helped make it even more memorable. This Raw gets an A in my book.

Of course, it had its few little flaws and big wins. So, here's the list to place those moments.

Let's start!

12. Cody Rhodes Loses

1 of 13

I complain about this, because I'm one of the people who want to see Cody at the main event scene, and I thought it would come after he lost his IC championship.

But it seems Big Show still holds a grudge after everything Cody did, and, last night, showed a clip of Rhodes losing at 'Mania, which was long enough to distract Rhodes and give Kofi the win.

Seems Show and Cody will have one more go at each other.

Don't get me wrong—it's good to see Kofi getting a win. Still, Cody should really be moved from this feud and go to the top.

11. AW and Mark Henry

2 of 13

Looks like Mark Henry might have Abraham Washington as a manager.

This idea is pretty interesting.

It's good to see the WWE wanting to get managers again. Mark might get more interesting in the coming weeks.

Let's see what the WWE has planned with Henry and Washington.

10. Eve's Promo

3 of 13

Eve has been one of the most interesting divas on WWE recently.

Her heel turn has been great.

And yesterday, she told everyone that what she did on 'Mania was really her big moment.

She also said that she can manipulate any man, but not Johnny. If she did anything to help him win, so be it.

Looks like Eve is looking to be the Aksana to John Laurinaitis.

9. The Miz vs Zack Ryder

4 of 13

Good to see that Ryder actually got serious and got a lot of offense in.

This is what he needs—lower down the Iced Z and become a threat.

And the Miz had good game as well. It's great to see him actually winning.

I'm hoping this will mean a push. Maybe a run with the US title would be good.

8. US Triple-Threat Match

5 of 13

"People Power" couldn't beat the Milan Miracle.

It was a good match.

We knew Ziggler and Swagger we're going to double-team the champ and then turn on one another, where Santino could capitalize and escape with the title.

After the match, Jack and Dolph wanted to attack Santino, but he escaped to the ramp, where Brodus Clay defended the Cobra and headbutted Ziggler.

After, both the Cobra and Funkausarus danced.

Interesting.

Nice to see Brodus involved with someone who isn't a jobber. Could this mean a team of Santino and Mr. Funk? Would be a funny combination.

7. "People Power" Era Starts

6 of 13

The show started with all the superstars in the back to hear Johnny tell them that his reign will be fair.

Then, of course, he books unfair US and WWE title matches. Classic.

He also came out after CM Punk's beating and told him his future isn't looking too bright.

Seems Punk will be defending his title and fighting the power at the same time.

He'll be battling Daniel Bryan's "YES! YES! YES!" to be the next Stone Cold.

6. Lord Tensai's Debut

7 of 13

Finally, the Japanese superstar has made his debut.

He has a good entrance.

He started his WWE run squashing Alex Riley. Oh Riley, we thought you were going to be something else.

Anyways, the cool thing is that he won by KO.

This was obviously done to show Tensai's power. This has to mean he'll be awesome in the next weeks.

5. CM Punk, Mark Henry and the Y2J Problem

8 of 13

Thanks to Johnny, Punk had to fight the World's Strongest Man for the title.

Henry really did look dominant.

He owned the match, just giving Punk some minor offense.

In the end, Mark threw Punk over the top rope, giving him a count-out victory, but then realized this result didn't get him the title, which angered the giant, who gave a final blow to the WWE champ on ringside.

After that, Jericho emerged from the crowd, saying that their match at 'Mania was classic, and it deserved a drink.

He showered Punk with a bottle of alcohol and used another bottle to smash his head with it.

Seems like Y2J's "Best in the World" feud isn't over just yet, which is great, since they're bout at WrestleMania really was a great one.

4. Alberto Del Rio Returns and Confronts Sheamus

9 of 13

This segment began with Sheamus entering with lots of boos toward him from the Miami crowd, but I'll talk more about them in a moment.

Just when Sheamus was going to talk, Del Rio made his return.

He stated that on SmackDown, if he's victorious against the Big White, he would get a future title match.

The crowd chanted "SI! SI! SI!". Awesome.

After that, Del Rio's mic was dying down, so he turned around to get another one, but got the lethal Brogue Kick to the face.

I think that Del Rio is replacing Christian right now, since Captain Charisma isn't 100 percent yet.

After the segment, Bryan appeared on the big screen to be interviewed on what he was thinking on his loss at 'Mania, but he didn't respond.

Nice to see Bryan is getting angry. Let's see if this pays off.

3. The Rock Talks

10 of 13

Rocky won at 'Mania.

I was sincerely shocked, but in a good way.

He thanked John, his family and the WWE Universe for letting him fight on the biggest stage of them all.

He also told everyone that his new goal was to be WWE champion.

If done correctly, that might be a good idea, but the Rock is just too busy being a movie star to be a champion right now, and it would really seem unfair.

Anyways, him starting Raw with this was a good idea. It gave the main event slot for Cena and his surprise guest...

2. Brock Lesnar Returns!

11 of 13

HERE COMES THE PAIN!

After John gave credit to the Rock and said that even after this, he won't quit or change the way he is, he wanted to congratulate Dwayne in the ring.

We waited, but instead we got Brock!

He went to ringside, walked a lot (at this point, I thought he was going to Y2J us), and entered the ring.

He was going to shake Cena's hand, but instead he carried him and performed the F5 on the CeNation leader.

What a way to close out the Raw after WrestleMania.

Now John has a good feud after losing the the Rock.

But really, Monday couldn't have been like it was without the most important component...

1. The Miami Crowd

12 of 13

YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! I could go on...

These guys are amazing.

They were a great crowd on WrestleMania, but I think they topped themselves with the energy they had on Raw.

From the Rock's promo, you knew they were going to be awesome.

They responded to Dwayne's statements with a "YES! YES! YES!" chant, while chanting other words given by Rocky.

Then the crowd booed Sheamus, which has to address the fact that the crowd didn't like an 18-second match at 'Mania.

When Del Rio made his entrance, they helped Ricardo scream his name, and they also chanted "SI! SI! SI!" when he stated he would be champion.

Even in the John Cena segment, they responded to him with a combination of "YES!" and "NO!". John mentioned Daniel, and the crowd chanted his name.

All throughout Raw, Daniel Bryan was over with the crowd, and he only appeared once.

Let's see what WWE does to capitalize, since this is a great opportunity to elevate Bryan.

Thanks for Reading!

Just a video showing what happened after the show.

Miami really loved Bryan last night. I'm just hoping Washington, DC has the same type of love for the heel.

Let's just hope WWE books him for that night.

Thanks for reading, and please comment!
