WWE Rumors: Brock Lesnar, John Cena, Lord Tensai and Tuesday's Top WWE News

Adam WellsMay 31, 2018

Well, no one can accuse WWE of not trying to create a short-term buzz around the product. With Rock, Triple H and Undertaker taking their talents back to Hollywood, the corporate office and wherever it is Taker frequents, Vince McMahon called in the big guns to help.

Of course, by big guns, we are talking about Lord Tensai and Alberto Del Rio. Oh, and there was that whole Lesnar guy coming back at the end, but who really wants to talk about that?

If you want to hear about it, you might as well keep reading on. We will provide you with all the latest and greatest news about Lesnar, Tensai and the rest of the big news to come out of WWE on one of the most interesting Raw shows in a long, long time.

BROCK LESNAR BRINGS THE PAIN BACK TO WWE

In a move that had been expected since Saturday afternoon, Brock Lesnar made his triumphant return to WWE by giving John Cena a little wake-up call on Raw in the form of a nice F-5. Even though it wasn't shocking if you were on a computer, it was still surreal to see Lesnar back.

Question on Everybody's Mind: How long will Lesnar be back for?

Our Take: According to reports, it sounds like he is going to be doing more than just one-off appearances to build for WrestleMania. He has 30-35 dates right now, with the potential for WWE to negotiate more, if needed. We shall see how long Lesnar wants to do this.

When Lesnar left WWE in 2004, the odds of him ever coming back seemed slim because of the way he left and his success in other ventures, namely UFC. To see him back on WWE television felt strange for so many reasons.

THE ROCK VS. BROCK FOR THE WWE TITLE?

Speaking of Brock, one scenario that is reportedly being discussed backstage right now would have him challenge The Rock at WrestleMania 29 for the WWE championship, which Rock says he plans to go after.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Will that scenario really play out?

Our Take: It might be talked about right now, but eventually cooler heads will likely prevail. Putting two part-time wrestlers in the WWE championship match at WrestleMania would make little to no sense.

Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 WrestleMania Rematches

Lesnar's return opens the door for a lot of stuff to happen in WWE. It is an interesting time right now for the company. Vince McMahon knew he had to do something to keep the good vibes alive after WrestleMania and he did not disappoint.

LORD TENSAI'S DEBUT LEAVES MORE QUESTIONS THAN ANSWERS

In a rare change of pace for WWE, instead of having Lord Tensai make his debut by costing someone a match, he was given a squash over Alex Riley—yes, he still works for WWE—on Monday night.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Was this the right debut for Tensai?

Our Take: Under the circumstances, absolutely. The biggest audience of the year was watching this show, he was made to look strong and he has the potential to do something right now, which is more than we can say for a lot of the roster.

Hype Meter: 4 out of 5 Misty Eyes

Seeing Prince Albert back in WWE is strange enough, but when he is packaged in this kind of gimmick it is odd. It would be foolish to think it won't work right now. There is a delicate balance that WWE has to find with this, or else the audience will turn on him in a hurry.

RANDY ORTON'S MOVIE CAREER GETS TAKEN AWAY

In what can only be called a major oversight on the part of WWE, or just straight obliviousness, Randy Orton was set to be in the next Marine movie the WWE Films studio produced. The problem with that is, Orton was dishonorably discharged from the Marines twice.

Question on Everybody's Mind: So people are actually aware of WWE Films Studios?

Our Take: It would appear that way. I always imagined them being treated like the laughingstock of Hollywood, but it turns out they know how to create some buzz for a production, even if it is for all the wrong reasons.

Hype Meter: 4 out of 5 RKOs

Seriously, WWE, how stupid do you have to be to cast Orton in this movie? Even if it only has one shot of Marines in uniform, there was no way that you could do this without feeling the wrath of the corps. On the plus side, perhaps the master plan to get Hornswoggle in all WWE Films will start to take shape.
